((Vision))
The earth shook, the Underground tunnels began to flood with water as the ceiling that led to Gabriel's crossing's lake gave way. Lois and the Aces looked down the tunnel with shock as the explosives randomly blew up and the water began to flood into the Underground warehouse where they were holding up. "Everyone fall back, get to the ladder!" She yelled. It was unclear how many made it out, if any made it at all...
The image changed and showed several Hydra agents running through the tunnels as it began to collapse in around them. Two agents huddled together as one of them created an energy shield to keep them safe. It was unclear if the shield was enough to protect them or not.
The image changed. The street just east of the Casa del Luna collapsed in, the cars driving there fell into the giant sink holes and crashed, people walking down the street fell into the pits, buildings and trees were devoured by the earth. The northern buildings of the Mego-mart fell to the ground as the explosives removed the supports that were once holding the building up, everyone inside fell with the building. The street just in front of the police station began to crumble and sink but the building itself stayed up, another part of the street just west of Hydra's HQ fell, Hydra's building stood tall. The Osiris historical museum and the public school crumbled as the chain reaction of explosives went off, families and children inside were all buried alive without warning, both buildings were completely destroyed.
The image changed... The road leading to district Zero fell in and the guards stationed there were consumed by the earth. They screamed and panicked as they had no warning of what was happening. The wall fell as that part of the tunnel gave way, leaving the path to District zero open for anything to get in and out. The soldiers stationed on the wall opened fire to keep the consumers at bay, by the sound of the explosives and the crumbling wall attracted them like flies to a bright light. Thousands of them poured out of the now open wall...
The image changed. The city was filled with smoke and fire. Sirens were blaring all around the city. People were sick, others were dying, many were wounded and bleeding out, it was unclear how many were harmed in the blast. Garrett and Bianca appeared to be safe, but the surrounding area didn't look well. The people were in bad shape, things would only get worse as the unsuspecting citizens of Osiris were about to meet the residents of District Zero...
The image changed. A man with a gas mask and a long black leather coat walked down the streets with his hands extended, the buildings began to explode around him and crumbled in huge pillars flames.
A woman dressed in black leather with long red hair and pale skin walked down another street. Behind her was a cloud of red death, a mist that followed in her wake. Anything that touched the thick mist would drop dead. Anyone else that approached her would simply disintegrate with a touch of her hand and would blow away into particles of red dust. Consumers flocked after her and she would touch them or let them walk into her mist and they would choke and die, a look of utter glee filled her eyes, but her expression was emotionless. It didn't matter who or what it was; consumer, Hydra agent, civilian, if they approached her she would kill them.
The city began to burn, the police and Hydra tried to regain control but they were overwhelmed and outnumbered by rioters and the growing number of consumers...
((End of Vision))
Bernard’s eyes popped open as he found himself crashing to the ground, toppled by the ensuing quake. While he lay there, the temors lasted for what seemed like an eternity. All his fears culminated in that moment, along with it the realization that he had done a horrible wrong. Everyone in the park were screaming if fear as they ran to flee the uncertainty. The lake bottom had collapsed as planned discharging its contents to the network of tunnels underground. In the ensuing exodus he managed to catch a glimpse of Maio running across the field, retrieving the briefcase.
The vision indicated a devestation much greater than anticipated. If true, Hydra could no longer dismiss their sinister contribution to society and sweep its result under the rug. Pandora’s box was opened. The world would see them for what they were.
”Was it worth it? He had brought to fruition their ultimate purpose, but at what cost? Many innocents had already died. May more were sure to succumb to the monstrosities that had been released. How would this day be remembered?”
All had changed.
The Sensitive picked himself up from the ground and chased after the young Asian love of his life, stopping only briefly at the customized Phascogale to retrieve the purple exel long blade that had belonged to Carson. All that he could think of in his steadfast pursuit was how he had doomed all those she held dear. She would never forgive him if they were harmed.
He called out to her as he neared. It was doubtful that she even heard his exclamation over the ensuing ruckus. In desperation he reached out grabbing her wrist in an effort to halt her flight.
”Easy Maio, it’s me!” He cried out fully expecting the frightened girl to lash out at the restraint.“I’ve miscalculated terribly. We must get to Garret and the others. In my brashness, I may have inadvertently brought down the wall as well. Quickly, I’ll fly us to safehouse, we haven’t much time!”
