((Focused Mind Read- Are you mearly a husk- Roll= 38+20 Success+69)) -----
”Why does any of this matter?" Paul asked arms folded across his chest.
”Much of it doesn’t in the long run.” Bernard stated flatly. ”The one armed clone in the surveillance room was in District Zero while I was there. I’m curious as to whether or not the rest of our group managed to make it out.”
”Rycroft dead or alive. That could make a difference. Benard replied taking a long hard look at the hibernated man contained within the bullet shaped machine. ” Regardless of the potential outcome, I’m going to take care of his back up. But, I still have one curiosity to settle before I do.”
He leaned over the metal sarcophagus and began focusing his skill attempting to glean any knowledge the dopplegangger might posess
” At this point are the synthetic units mearly husks or do they possess the memories of their predecessor.”
He knew time was limited. If Vladimir’s memories were intact perhaps the Sensitive would gain some insight into Senior’s agenda.
Clarity looked annoyed as he pulled the syringe out from his chest, but he didn't stand up. He rubbed his chest in pain and continued to sit on the floor.
”Much of it doesn’t in the long run.” Bernard stated flatly. ”The one armed clone in the surveillance room was in District Zero while I was there. I’m curious as to whether or not the rest of our group managed to make it out.”
The other clones looked at each other. Paul shook his head. "We could activate the intercom if the power is still functioning to communicate with him in the room, but it could alert anyone that is monitoring the radio chatter. They would know someone is talking from this office. If you keep the message short, we could be gone before anyone could make it here." He replied.
As Bernard reached out to make contact with the clone he was able to pick up vague thoughts and memories, but most were muffled sounds, flashes of lights, and random flashes of colors.
'Continue with the processing. We will continue as planned.'
'The project is running smoothly...' said one voice, but the sound after that was so distorted that it couldn't be heard.
Another sentence was picked out. 'Dump the body, we don't need the police finding it here.' Followed by a series of strange scuffling noises.
There was a mental processor already installed into the clone, but it currently was not functioning and running, it seemed to be powered up but running only on standby mode. The clone was nothing but a husk at the moment waiting to be activated. The clone had picked up sounds from the outside room, but did not currently have the memories of its predecessor.

((Bernard ATK- Your goose is cooked- Roll= 21 +30lvl+15 blade)) -----
As Bernard reached out to make contact with the copy he was able to pick up vague thoughts and memories, but most were nothing but muffled sounds, flashes of lights, and random flashes of colors. Fruitless in his effort the Sensitive relinquished his intrusive bid to aquire more insite into the man the doppleganger was to become. The memories in question must be held in some sort of digital file.
Some answers would have to wait.
”We’ve taken enough risks.” Bernard responded in response to Paul’s recent suggestion regarding the intercoms. ”I’m afraid any further delays may jeoprodise our escape. No use pin pointing our location. It’s time we made our way to the roof.”
He took a deep breath as the they prepared to depart. ”One more loose end to tie.”
Bernard removed the Zenith blade from his belt extending the weapon over the Rycroft clone’s inert body. Activatine the weapon he thrust the purple beam through the viewing casing designed to pierce through the doppleganger’s skull , the synthetic mental processor contained within into the inner workings of the bullet shaped sarcophagus that held it. The Sensitive made no effort to remove the energized weapon super heating the energized blade even further with his powers as he walked away to join the others as they departed for the roof.
” Your goose is finally cooked.” He muttered. It was the end of the man who had turned him into a killer. Or so he hoped.
Nathan let off a sigh and shook his head. So many people had died today. He bit his tongue though and didn't say anything, he just walked to the door to follow Bernard out. Ringo, Paul, and George walked towards the door as well, but John was still on the computer.
"I got it. They took Rycroft to the docks. Rycroft's mental processor has a tracker that shows that he was dumped in the water. I don't think he's alive. Looks like they killed him shortly after they took him away and left your cell." He closed out the computer tab and followed Bernard to the rooftop.
"You have to make sure Jeannette is dead though, if they are alive they will kill us. We have a bomb in our head that they can remotely self destruct. If she learns we helped you... its over for us..."
((New map will have a proper docks and airport.))

Nathan let off a sigh and shook his head following Bernard to the door.
”I know what you’re thinking.” Bernard proclaimed . ” So many died.” “ True, yes. But, how many more would have perished should their experimentation have continued?”
John interupted
”I got it. They took Rycroft to the docks. Rycroft's mental processor has a tracker that shows that he was dumped in the water. I don't think he's alive. Looks like they killed him shortly after they took him away and left your cell." He closed out the computer tab and followed Bernard to the rooftop.
”One more thread sniped. Bernard thought regarding the news.
"You have to make sure Jeannette is dead though, if they are alive they will kill us. We have a bomb in our head that they can remotely self destruct. If she learns we helped you... its over for us..."
The red head replied. “I’m well aware of the motivator they implemented. Ari revealed similar concerns when we spoke candidly. I would like nothing more than to see the final head of the Cerebus you call Jeanette severed and end that oppression. Apart from doing that ourselves we may never know. It’s far too dangerous to search the building. Even for you. You saw it yourselves the ground level was laid to waste. With the lock down she couldn’t escape to the sub levels. Her only escape route would take her up as was ours. they are currently scouring floor by floor for survivors. We have to assume that she has died or will die at the hands of these intruders. That, or when we pass through this door the chopper will have already departed and we have our answer under no uncertain terms.”
With that Bernard burst through the access door and onto the roof.
Nathan knew a lot had died, but even now he didn't know the full scope of everything that had gone on due to be secluded in the Hydra secret sub-level.
To the groups surprise, there was one helicopter left on the rooftop. The snipers on the roof had been killed by what looked to be severe burns that had gone straight through their chest or heads in an angle as if they had been hit with a type of laser. The wounds had already cauterized and cooled, so it appeared that it all happened when the attack first started. The helicopter was empty and no one was currently sitting inside, but they could hear another helicopter approaching in the distance from the south.
George walked onto the roof and nodded his head towards the helicopter. "I'll fly. It looks like reinforcements are on the way. Most are busy in the street due to the recent terrorist attack caused by the Aces, the others are busy with the threat from District Zero. As long as we don't make a scene they shouldn't notice us leaving or think anything of it when we pass. Let's get a move on."
With that news Nathan was shocked, he had so many questions he wanted to ask, but he knew that now wasn't the time to ask them. He followed George to the helicopter and climbed into the back, followed by John, Ringo and Paul. They led Bernard sit up front. Clarity was apprehensive and watched as they all got into the helicopter, fear clearly gripping him as he thought about flying. He had a fear of heights and didn't want to get it, but he reluctantly began walking over to climb into the helicopter.
George flipped the switches and began booting the helicopter up to get ready to take off for flight. "It's now or never. Let's get out of here."

There were bodies of Hydra agents scattered across the rooftop; killed by what looked to be severe burns, cauterized and cooled. The helicopter was empty and no one was currently sitting inside. George walked onto the roof and nodded his head towards the helicopter. "I'll fly. It looks like reinforcements are on the way.” He stated taking note of the distant helicopter approaching from the south.” As long as we don't make a scene they shouldn't notice us leaving or think anything of it when we pass. Let's get a move on."
Nathan followed George to the helicopter and climbed into the back, followed by John, Ringo and Paul. There was one small detail that Bernard had yet to address as took his place up front beside George who was now flipping switches to get ready for takeoff. Bernard had already began infiltrating the weak mindbender’s thoughts pushing a powerful suggestion into the apprehensive acrophobic. [i}”Throw yourself from the rooftop!”[/i] The red headed psychic commanded ” The world won’t miss you! It’s the only way to be truly free. “
"It's now or never. Let's get out of here!" George screamed as Manfred began to move closer toward the chopper.
” DO IT NOW!!” Bernard commanded once more. ”Free yourself from this torment.”
"Let's go!" the clone in the pilot seat yelled as the propeller blades kicked on and began to pick up momentum... but Manfred stopped and jerked in place... then slowly turned his back and walked to the ledge. He made a strange choking sound as he twitched and turned around as he stood on the edge of the building's rooftop. Nathan leaned forward and poked his head out the door. "What are you doing?! Get back over here!" Ringo grabbed him by the arm to keep him inside the helicopter. Manfred knew what was happening but there was no stopping it. He looked at Bernard with fear in his eyes... then took a leap over the edge to disappear out of view as he fell towards the ground and to his death.
"NO! What the hell?!?!" Nathan screamed. The man was a criminal, but Nathan didn't want to watch him take his own life. He slumped back in his seat and stared in disbelief... "W-what just happened...?" he asked under his breath. George shook his head and began to increase the throttle to lift off. The clones seemed to not mind and showed very little emotion to the events that just took place.
"Buckle up, things might get rough." the clone said as he lifted the chopper off the roof's landing pad and began flying south west. "Where exactly are we headed?" George asked.
As they fled the scene, the second helicopter passed by them to hover and watch the dead bodies on the roof and at the front door on the ground. The crew was obviously trying to figure out what took place, but George didn't stop to see anymore.
Nathan gasped as he saw the destruction in the city for the first time and all the dead bodies and panicked people running through the streets. "M-my god... what happened here...?" he whispered as he looked at the ruined city below. He slumped forward and buried his face in his hands as he broke down from all the death and destruction.
Manfred looked toward Bernard with fear in his eyes... then disappeared out of view as jumped over the ledge to his death.
"NO! What the hell?!?!" Nathan screamed as Bernard looked on with great satisfaction. ”One less worry” The red headed Sensitive reflected. Sooner or later Manfred would have tried to assert his influence. The fail safes within the synthetic minds of the clones would prove challenging for the fledgling mindbender. As would the superior mental talents possess by Bernard. That left Nathan to be manipulated and Omen saw a need for the psychiatrist’s talents.
Nathan slumped back in his seat and stared in disbelief... "W-what just happened...?" he asked as the helicopter began to lift off. Despite the query Bernard remained silent. Some things were better left unsaid.
“Where exactly are we headed?” George asked directing the rotered metal bird skyward. As they fled the scene, the second helicopter passed by them only to hover near their departure point likely trying to figure out what taken place upon the Hydra rooftop. George didn't flinch, holding to his flightpath to the southwest.
Their current destination would take them toward District Zero. Bernard’s thoughts turned to Maio. The question remained. Had they made it out alive?
It bewildered the red headed Sensitive why she wouldn’t have egressed upon the same route as they had entered. He had to believe, but common sense dictated otherwise. She and the others had traversed into the heart of the hoard. Even if the managed to make it to the gates, would the guards upon the wall allow them back into the city. The clone troopers had their orders and followed them to the letter. Besides, how could he face he now? He had killed her close friend for being the monster he was destined to become.
Nathan gasped as he saw the destruction in the city for the first time. All the dead bodies and panicked people running through the streets. "M-my god... what happened here...?" he whispered as he looked at the ruined city below. He slumped forward and buried his face in his hands as he broke down from all the death and destruction.
”Keep it together Nathan. Perhaps we can bring something good out of this disaster. With your help, and the data we’ve retrieved, maybe, just maybe, we can find a cure. Save Osiris. Hopefully all is not as lost as it seems. ”I know of a place in the burbs where we can hole up while we get our bearings. We’ll still need a proper lab and some equipment but we can deal with that later. Right now, let’s get settled.
The helicopter flew back towards Hydra HQ. There was a lot of smoke, and a lot of dead bodies. Another helicopter flew by, appearing to retreat from the battle. Perhaps they were being called elsewhere? Naida leaned out the side of the helicopter to look at the roof of the building, seeing dead bodies scattered all over. There were burn marks, as if some type of heat ray had shot upwards in an angle to kill everyone stationed on the wall. She would need to get to the ground floor to investigate.
"Ma'am, it doesn't look safe here!" The pilot called. "Should we turn around?"
"No!" Naida shouted back. "I need to know what happened here. Take us down! IRA, stay with the pilot..." She instructed.
The pilot did as he was told and landed the helicopter on the roof of Hydra HQ. Naida climbed out and took a look around. It was horrible. She walked over to the nearest clone and put her fingers to his neck, he had no pulse. It looked as if the heat ray had hit him and burned part of his face and body off. What could have done this? She checked everyone else on the roof, but her efforts were futile; they too were all dead. She looked back at the helicopter and shook her head to let them know. She stood up and walked to the door leading downstairs and followed them to the closest lobby.
"Oh my..." her voiced caught in her throat and she almost threw up. She gagged and took in a sharp breath at what she saw before her. There was blood... everywhere. Did the yellow eyed monsters do this? Bodies torn apart and thrown all over... it was a mess... there was just so much blood. The once pristine white walls of Hydra Corp. were stained different shades of reds, brown, and grey. The power had shut off, but the emergency power had activated, turning the dark halls an eerie red color as the emergency lights flashed and blinked on and off. It looked like a scene from a horror movie. She put a hand on the wall to steady herself. "W-what happened... here...?" She took careful steps through the halls and checked each room she came across... they were all the same. Nothing in the rooms but death and the stench of the dead.
Tears welled up in her eyes, but she forced them not to fall. She was tired and exhausted, but she had to find at least one person alive. She went to the elevator to check to see if the power was still working... it was, there was enough emergency power to move the elevator. She pressed the button to go to the first floor. The elevator's floor was sticky with blood, a single lone body was slumped in the corner, lifeless eyes wide open staring hopelessly at a picture of her family clutched in her hands.
Naida ignored the sight and just stared straight ahead at the door. The door finally opened up to the main halls on the first floor, but the sight was the same. Hundreds of bodies were lying on the ground in a puddle of blood. Her throat hurt. She walked forward, looking for at least one face she recognized, but she found no one she knew. The bodies were mutilated beyond recognition. She stood in the hall and clenched her fists. "I need to find who.. or what... did this..." She looked at Jeannette's desk. She never liked the woman, but she also never wished death on her. The chair had tipped over, the tablet lay on the floor, but there was no body that resembled her coworker. She walked outside and saw a dead body splattered on the sidewalk, it was nothing but a puddle of red goo... someone had fell from the roof... the guards at the entrance had also been killed.
She turned back and looked down the hall. "Stephen..." she whispered. She walked to the healing labs and was about to swipe her card, but she noticed the door was already open. She stepped inside and found more dead bodies, a few scientist had ran inside to hide behind the desk to no avail. The door had been pried open by brute force. ((Search: 53. Success))
The door had hand marks as if someone had dug their fingers between the door seal and pried it apart... the amount of strength needed for that... 'I need to get to the security room...'
She turned around and walked down the halls, seeing more dead bodies than she could stomach, but she tried to keep her resolve without breaking down. The door to the security room had also been opened, this one was different though... it wasn't forced open. "Strange..." she muttered.
She walked into the room and saw the two clones in their swiveling chairs dead, both had been shot with a plasma pistol. Their deaths didn't match the ones outside. She walked over to the computer and began typing, but all of the footage had been erased. "AUGH!!!!" Naida screamed in defiance and slammed her fists into the computer terminal. Whoever did this had covered their tracks and knew how Hydra's system and security worked. "Rycroft! I need to find him."
She dropped the SMG she was carrying with her and left it on the ground. Naida jogged back to the elevator and rode it up to the top floor. The elevator opened up, more dead bodies, more blood. She ran down the hallway until she made it to Rycroft's office and burst into the door. It was empty...
The wall to the back of the room had slid open and revealed a strange silver bullet shaped canister of some sort. She walked over to examine it... "Rycroft..." a small hole had been burned into his head. A bullet hole? Could a plasma pistol puncture through so neatly? A Sensitive?
She needed to know what happened. She went to Rycroft's computer and opened it up. There were no tabs open. She typed in her security information and logged into the computer's back-end security. She wouldn't have clearance to access the files she needed, but she wouldn't need to. The computer worked and was in tact. She shut the computer down, opened up the computer case, and pulled the entire hard drive out and stored it in her utility belt. Rycroft's office was a giant security room, that was obvious from all the monitors lining the wall. If something happened in the building, those monitors would have the information she needed.
She took a deep breath and took one last look around. The place she had called her home for seven years was now destroyed... everyone she cared for was dead... everyone she loved was gone. She had nothing left. "God... Nathan...."
She clenched her jaw and tightened her fists so tight that her knuckles turned white beneath her leather covered fingers. She never got another chance to see him again... the worst part was it was all her fault for her reckless acts to prove she was competent enough to infiltrate Club Exxel, and failed. She was so stupid. She was so stupid...
She wasn't strong enough to save the people in the Underground tunnels. She wasn't strong enough to save the people in the streets of Osiris. She wasn't strong enough to save the people at the police station. She wasn't strong enough to save the people at Hydra Corp. She wasn't strong enough to save her brother. This all had to change... she had to change. She grabbed Rycroft's desk and flung it across the room, throwing it out the window as she left off a scream of pure rage and frustration. She let loose and aimed her hand at the monitors at the back room and blew them all to bits with her powers. Shooting everything she could, screaming at the top of her lungs all while she did so. She used her magnetar blast, shooting off a glorious bright blue light that completely destroyed the entire room in her rage.
Only after everything was left in dust and ashes did she calm down. She sat in the middle of the room on her knees breathing hard. She slowly stood to her feet and made her way back to the roof of the building. IRA was standing there waiting for her. "What did you find?" IRA asked.
Naida continued walking and didn't stop. Her face now an emotionless mask. She carelessly pulled Glory's long red scarf from around her neck and tossed it off the side of the building to fall to the ground below.
"Nothing but death... no one is alive. I did grab Rycroft's hard drive. I swear... I'm going to find those responsible... I'll kill them all..."
