((I found a small hiccup. On the last attacking turn you used Marksman. It gives 20 Atk, but -20 defense. So your last defense roll should have been 10.))
1. Marksman: A basic long or short range attack. Very useful when you're either not close enough, or simply want to take your time to aim and take out your enemy with a well timed attack This skills gives you a +20 attack bonus. Because you stop to aim, you leave your self open for a short time. -20 to defense turn. (Roll higher than enemy for (D30) combat.) Restrictions: Cannot use twice in a row.
I missed something??? You are partially correct, The line would read Avoid acid-Leave my gun alone- Roll = 30 Critical Success!! +13(suit...found another slip) +5(weapon) -20 (marksman) =28 still fails Plus.......Critical Success.....Counter Attack....Bazinga!!
"So it looks like it's just the two of us and you're out of position"
"Counter attack" Roll = 28 +2(SD-99) +6(suit)=36
If the critical success stands for the counter attack She still has one attack coming as well. ;D

Kenny strutted into the hall as if a model's runway stretched out before her, vowing to herself that if anyone could make this damned disaster of a training jumpsuit work, she would. The bangle earrings dangling from her ears jingled softly as she scanned the room, assessing, analyzing and dismissing its occupants at a glance, until her gaze settled on Glory. None of the other pissants in this room mattered. Glory was the real power here. Get in good with Ms. Superhero-of-the-Century, and she was in good. Period.
But hmmm... the best approach... Glory would be used to adoring fans and equally familiar with detractors, so her usual I'm-so cute/sexy-and-helpless or love-to-hate-me tactics wouldn't work. What a hero needed was...
A challenge.
With arrogant, swaggering steps, Kenny planted herself squarely in front of Glory. “I can leave here any time I want,” she declared boldly, dispensing with pleasantries and cutting straight to the point. She'd gotten careless, and Hydra had caught up with her. Lesson learned. It wouldn't happen again. “At this point, I see little reason not to. There are still plenty of places in the world where a girl like me can disappear and live like the chocolate goddess of hedonism personified."
“The only reason I haven't yet is you. You saved my life once.” Hell, it's probably even true, Kenny thought. Whoopty-friggin-doo. “So,” she continued out loud, attitude dripping from every word, posture clearly stating her doubt that it could be done, “you get one day to convince me to stay.”
((We're going to skip the "basics of living test" because your first post was pretty obvious that you know how to write. The only thing we will go over is double parentheses. Use them for whenever we talk out of character, or roll on the dice log.))
Glory raised an eyebrow as the woman walked into the room, clearly trying to stand out from the other operatives in training. Glory pretended not to notice and looked away, subtly touching a finger to her ear. "Who is the girl approaching me? the one that acts like she is on some type of 'Top modal' reality show?"
Her operative responded "Her name is Kendra Johnson. She is one out of many people that has been showing a bit of promise lately. Try to convince her to join us." Glory nodded her head. Most of the time nodding your head while on the phone was pointless because the other person couldn't see, but when inside of Hydra HQ, there were eyes everywhere...
Glory watched as the woman stood before her and began to talk. Glory just stood their like an emotionless statue. The girl had a lot of spunk. She liked her. But she wasn't going to tell her that. Glory had to suppress her smile as she turned on her 'Stoic teacher' mode. “you get one day to convince me to stay.”
"Well, good morning to you too, Kendra. You have a lot of guts kid, I'll give you that. You don't waste any time on playing around, do you?" Glory would stroke the girl's ego a bit. She honestly had no memory of ever saving her life, but she wasn't going to tell her that now. When you save a school full of kids from a burning building on one day, you don't go back the next to learn all of their names. After awhile, the whole 'save the day' thing becomes routine. A job. She kept her voice calm and professional, trying to keep the smile out of her voice. People paid attention to you more when they thought you were being serious.
"I'm glad I took the time out to save your life. You know why? Hydra Corp. says that you are one of their most talented people to ever set foot in this building, and talent is very hard to come by these days. We would like you to take a few tests and answer a few questions for us. Nothing difficult. Besides, I bet a pretty girl as smart as you could even do it in record time to leave early. If you pass, you may just land yourself a high paying career as one of our top operatives. I think that One day is a fair amount of time for me to try and convince you. So what do you say. Would you like me to show you around a bit and get started...?"
Glory took a small step to the side to show the girl the doorway that led to the next room and waved a hand to gesture for her to step through it. Out of all the students she ever had, she could tell that this one might give her some trouble...
((Sorry for not posting. Was a bit busy. I thought over the critical moves a lot during the time I didn't post. So a perfect 30 roll would trigger a critical success, and a perfect 1 roll triggers a fail. This would be the same as playing a video game with critical hits. I clearly understand how it would work in the RP now.
The only reason I wouldn't use this system though is because it would kind of be a "Lucky shot". Rolling higher than your opponent is already going to deal them damage, and giving a second critical roll would most likely murder them out right, and only help to aid humans in their overpowering. Counter attack, agility, and disable weapon can be used instead with the current system. Counter attack already gives two attacking turns, agility helps you to dodge by 10 points, and disable weapon could cause the "gun jam" effect if you wanted it to.))
(( Why thank you. ^_^ It's been awhile since I've used the old (( )), but I can see how it would simplify things in an rp with frequent location changes and OOC game mechanics.))
“Playing around is for losers. I mean, the implied half-assed approach. What you want isn't coming to you. You have to go get it. So I do.”
Kenny gave Glory an assessing look. A pretty girl like me? What was that? A butter-up or some kind of subtle come on? Either way suited her fine. It meant that she was either in like Flynn anyway, or there was a possibility for profit. Tabloids would pay some serious cash for pictures of just about any unclothed part of such a reclusive super-hero.
She could just see the headline now: GLORY'S TORRID LESBIAN AFFAIR WITH UNDERAGE BOMBSHELL!! Kendra loved vivid words like 'torrid', and 'bombshell' was obviously a given. She'd been fifteen for over four months and, any day now the straight body her mother had called 'all legs and elbows' would start to curve in all kinds of ways. Nobody would be looking at her elbows then.
Still, it was nice to see that Hydra recognized quality when they saw it. She was the best thing to walk through the door since Glory, and in order to milk this gig for all it was worth, she was going to have to show them what she was capable of- at least some of it. This wasn't a place where she could play cute and innocent and come out on top. It would made things much easier for them if they recognized her genius from the start so she didn't have to go through the trouble of cramming it down their throats.
“If I pass? Listen here, honey,” Kenny put up an admonishing forefinger and waggled it in front of Glory's nose. “I can matriculate circles around any of these upper-middle class, uniform-wearing, mini-van driving, nine-to-five working, toe-the-line scurrying, regulation-length chuckleheads Hydra cares to throw up against me. The question is do I want to? So, come on, lady. Show me what's so all-fired special about this place that you had to kidnap a girl from an honest day's work of breaking the law.” Hand on one hip, she strode through the doorway as if she owned it- as if she owned all doorways and had, in fact, invented doors for the sole purpose of showcasing her entrances and exits.
This girl had quite the ego. If they weren't so short on hands she may have checked her on it, but at the moment, she would do what she could to convince the girl to stay. Her flattery seemed to work as Kendra now asked 'The question is do I want to?'. It let Glory know that if she pushed the girl and made this a challenge, then Kendra would more than likely accept it and try harder. The girl didn't act like the type to back out of a dare.
Glory followed Kendra and walked down the hall and around the corner. The next area was the mess hall. It looked similar to the last room, except there was a counter up against the north wall. Behind the counter there were items lining the wall from top to bottom. On the opposite side of the shopping counter was the cafeteria line. Glory and Kendra had entered the room from the west corridor. There was a young woman with long blond hair standing behind the counter running the small store within the training facility.
Glory stopped walking and turned to face her new student. "This is where students eat and mostly lounge around in their free time. This will also be where we will practice buying items. This is a small test that you should pass without difficulty. I'm curious to see if you can score higher than my training results."
(( At the bottom of your posts inside of your signature, there is a quick link that will take you to your item storage page. When the window opens up, near the top of your storage page will be your money; you will start off with $1000 to use on whatever you want. Because this is your training you will be given 50 extra dollars to assist you.))
Glory now walked a bit further into the room, standing directly in the center of the cafeteria. "Alright, You may have noticed that within your bag there is a ID card. These cards will be used not only as an identification card for people to find out who you are, but also as a credit card, and a work ID all rolled into one. Your task will be to purchase two VBS Stimpacks from the store clerk over there." Glory points at the store Clerk with the blond hair behind the counter.
"You will first walk over and greet her, telling her what you would like to buy, and hand her your ID card so that she can scan it. You will then wait for the store clerk to reply and give you the items you asked for. If the clerk does not confirm that you bought the item, then you cannot take the item and add it to your bag. Once you have the items you will make a final response acknowledging that you took the items."
(( At the very bottom of your final post, type out of character: "Subtracting $50 from bag, and adding VBS items", to let the other players and Admin know that you edited your item storage and money. Make sure to actually edit your items and money and not just say that you did, because if you post the message that you edited your items without actually doing it, then the Admin will give you a warning for it.))
Glory nodded her head one final time. "Alright, I hope that's not too Confusing. After you are done buying the items return to me to move on to your next task."
((My last post only made you smile?? Damn, I gotta try harder... ))
Kenny gave Glory a long-suffering look. “Buying and selling? That's your sales pitch? Did you read my file?” Kenny had raised the seed money for some of her research through shrewd application of the laws of supply and demand. This was child's play. “I was hoping for more along the lines of a pool party, a shopping spree or a new car, but it's your day.” She shrugged, unconcerned. “Waste it however you want.”
Still working the Hydra jumpsuit as if Versace himself had come back from the dead to hand-stitch every inch, Kenny strutted across the hall and got in line behind other recruits at the counter. Past observation had shown her that fidgeting was an unattractive trait in others, so despite her impatient nature, she kept herself still. When her restless energy grew to be too much, she shifted from one carefully studied pose to another.
At last the arduous five minutes before her turn passed. “Yo,” she greeted the clerk casually as she plopped her card on the counter, “two stimps.”
