((ESP-May I have your attention please?- Roll =92 You’re not alone.))
During his search did in fact uncover a disturbing observational fact. The apartment had a bug infestation; not the insects but the devices used to listen in on conversations. Bernard uncovered several of the monitoring apparatus; under the lamp, hidden behind the TV screen, inside the far back part of a drawer. Anywhere the average person would never think to look. Given his previous discovery regarding the incident in the slums the Sensitive had little doubt HYDRA was monitoring this equipment.
”Why the special interest from your employers Miss Baris? Have you….?”
The thought was suddenly interrupted as the tiny hairs on the back of his neck stood at attention. Almost simultaneously the familiar occurance was accompanied bya brief vision flashing in his mind involving a key sliding into a keyhole He had witnesseda similiar phenomenon on previous occasions. Each time the event had occurred it was followed soon after by an incoming danger. If his current hearing impediment persisted he would have to rely on this sixth sense even more.
Bernard stopped what he was doing and made his way over to the bedroom door and turning off the light. Peering out the crack in the small opening he was hoping to discern the nature of his visitor. Was it one of the tenants or some other HYDRA operative investigating the non-distinct clatter picked up on the surveillance microphones during the red heads search?
Once thing was certain as the house lights illuminated, he was not alone.
The door opened and in came a man dressed in a simple grey suit. He had blondish colored hair and a subtle smirk on his face and he was holding a folded up newspaper in his hands. He gave a quick glance around the room and then flicked on the light switch.
He walked over to the refrigerator and opened it up, took a look inside and let off a disappointed grunt when he didn't see anything that he liked.
He closed the refrigerator door and walked over to the living room couch and sat down. He fluffed out the newspaper a few times before settling in to read...

The grey suited visitor was not as Bernard had hoped being neither Nathan nor his sister. The possibility still remained that the intruder was a HYDRA operative although his actions seemed to indicate some sort of familiarity having the gumption to investigate the contents of the fridge before making himself comfortable on the living room couch. The possibility existed that the blonde haired man was a companion to one or both of the roommates.
Fact of the matter was; civilian guest or not, the additional presence would complicate things. Bernard needed to know just what he was up against. Given the nature of his recent power fluctuations and that time seemed to be on his side the Sensitive decided to push his way slowly into the man’s mind. Grabbing the throw blanket from the foot of the bed Bernard wrapped the ESP-9000 glove in an effort to disguise the soft glow that would be emitted from the device as he began focusing his thoughts.
The blond haired man let off a sigh and fluffed the newspaper one more time. He looked the paper over for a little while longer and then looked at his watch to see what time it was. When the man spoke he had a strong british accent and talked as if he were bored and annoyed to be inside the apartment.
"Well, looks like I'm not going anywhere for awhile. Minus well make myself comfortable."
He folded the newspaper up neatly and placed it down on the coffee table in front of him. He reached over and grabbed the TV remote and turned the television on and switched to the local news network to see what was going on in the city. He leaned back in his chair and crossed his legs to get comfortable.

The blond haired man sat looking over his paper for a while with the only change in his relaxed posture came if the form of an irritated glare at his watch as if expecting somebody. The intruder seemed to be somewhat annoyed at the inconvenient wait spurting some brief blurb before Bernard could even begin to read the words coming from his mouth. The rant ended as quickly as it started folding the newspaper neatly and placed it down on the coffee table in front of him before leaning back in his chair, remote in hand, legs crossed comfortably in front of the evening news.
Bernard could now feel his psychic energies begin to gel forming a powerful link he had not felt before. It was time. What better way to learn more about the mysterious visitor than to begin the intrusive probe as he was integrated with Osiris’ day to day events.

---------
It was as he had feared. The clock on the nightstand indicated that they were venturing into the wee hours of the morning. Soon the grueling tempo of the past weeks would once again catch up with him and fatigue would begin to set in once more limiting his effectiveness. Unfortunately for Bernard his unexpected squatter still seemed to be going strong, contently waiting as he took in the nightly news. With the apartment under audio surveillance and what he believed to be an operative already on the inside it was only a matter of time before the cornered Sensitive would falter.
Reaching into his backpack Bernard removed a pair of stun cuffs and placed them in the center of the double bed. It was a risky plan but given the accumulating obstacles he couldn’t afford to just sit around and wait to see how it would play out should Miss Baris return. He stepped back into the shadows careful to keep a line of sight to his target, pulling out his phone and set it to record the upcoming testimonial. The Sensitive concentrated, forcing his command into the blonde visitor’s unsuspecting mind.
“GO to the bedroom down the hall and on your left and PUT ON the stun cuffs you will find upon the bed. Once the restraint is secured upon your wrists you will freely CONFESS your secrets beginning with; Who you are; what you are are doing in the Baris’s apartment; and who you report to?”
((I kept it as "Minus well" because believe it or not that is how everyone I know says it. Even if "Might as well" is the correct term, people in real life have bad grammar and don't know the difference. There are actually a lot of topics scattered around the web about it. ))
'So much drama in the news today...' He thought lazily as he continued to watch TV. That was the initial thought that Bernard picked up from his mind. The man placed his index finger on the side of his forehead and let off an annoyed sigh as he continued to wait. 'Looks like agent Baris isn't going to show up anytime soon.'
And that's when it happened. Both men experienced a loud high pitched squeal inside of their heads that sounded a lot like someone jamming a microphone into a speaker, and a sharp pain quickly followed that made their heads feel like they would explode. It was Psychic feedback.
"Ahh!" The blond haired man quickly stood to his feet and he looked about the room. A small drop of blood ran down from the man's nose, but he paid no attention to it. He put a hand to his head and closed his eyes as he focused his thoughts.
Someone was attempting to do a psychic assault on him but it was interfering with his technology. He shook his head to try and shake the feeling but the mindbender was quite strong and was pushing through. 'How is he getting through the software?'
He began to slowly walk to the back room and towards the bed like he was instructed. He took in a deep breath. "Well honey, if you wanted to get all kinky and tie me to the bed, all you had to do was ask." He chuckled to himself and picked up the stun cuffs and fastened them in place. He held his hands up to show the mysterious man that he did as he was told.
He casually sat down on the bed and lay back, placing one leg up on the bed as he got comfortable. "Well, you obviously aren't Baris, you have my curiosity." He spoke towards the shadows. He couldn't see the person hiding so he was just looking about the room in no particular order. It didn't matter, he didn't really care to see the person trying to get in his head. Not like he had anything better to do anyways.
"I'll tell you what you need to know, but first- please don't do that psychic thing again. I have one of those mental processors installed and the whole ESP thing interferes in a nasty way. It will be very unpleasant for the both of us if you keep trying to force your way through the software. So instead, why not talk like two civilized men?" He cleared his throat and quite confidently announced his name.
"Now to get down to business. My name is agent Beck, but everyone at the agency calls me 'Mister Beck'. I am currently reporting to Hydra corp., although I wouldn't go as far as saying that I actually work for them. My job is to keep an eye on Agent Baris. Recently she has been... acting up. We just need to know if she is still playing for the right team. I can assure you that it is nothing serious. Now if you don't mind me asking, may I have the honor of seeing the man that I am talking to?"
((Psychic Feedback: Took 17 damage. 63 HP remains. Bernard resisted the feedback. 104-17=87.))

“So instead, why not talk like two civilized men?"
It took a great deal of concentration to follow what the man had to say. Bernard was all for avoiding a repeat performance of the high pitch squeal and the accompanying razor sharp pain as if someone had driven a screwdriver into his temple. If the man was willing to co-operate then it made it all the more worth his while given the success of gleaning anything worthwhile from the man’s hi-tech brain. The Sensitive hacked people not computers.
“It’s obvious to me the push had little effect on your electronic processors” Bernard stated. “And yet you humor me by honoring my…….requests; well, to a certain degree anyways. Still,.. SO much control. What’s your game Mr. Beck? I know all about your friend’s listening devices. I’m sure your little conversation has tipped them off to my presence. So how long do I have?”
Bernard paused while he continued to study the man intently from the shadows before stepping forward to reveal himself.
"Judging by that look, I suspect not long. But you shouldn’t be so smug my friend. How tough could it be to toss that scrawny ass of yours out that window? Such heinous circumstances originating from her apartment would certainly get Miss Baris’ attention. Wouldn’t it? So why don’t you give me a reason NOT to kill you? As you indicated I don't have much time."
A big smile crept across Mr. Beck's face as Bernard stepped out of the shadows and revealed himself. He listened intently as he spoke.
"Haha! Well, aren't you a fireball of fun. I can give you several reasons not to throw me out the window. For one, you have as much time as I say you do. So how about this..."
He now purposely rose his voice as he spoke. "Everyone hold your positions; I'm fine. No need to do anything rash. There, that will hold them off. No one will be bothering us for awhile, so let's talk." He wiggled his finger at Bernard.
"I must say that the psychic trick you have is interesting. The technology helped block you a bit, but you were still getting through. Quite strange I must say. Normally that type of thing just bounces right off. I should have the team take a look at that, there might be some faulty hardware somewhere."
He now looked out the door towards the living room. "I believe you must be the one we've been looking for. Rumor has it you're quite the troublemaker. I would love to learn more about who you are and what this is all about. Just a few days ago they had me go to your apartment and have a look around. It was a nice place. Although it looks like you don't spend much time there anymore and it could really use a good cleaning."
He now sat up and leaned forward. "But there is one thing that is bothering me. How about you tell me what you're doing snooping around Baris' apartment? Would you say that the two of you are... intimate?"

"Before I divulge my interests, why don’t you tell me what it was exactly that you were looking for in my apartment besides satisfying your own natural compulsions regarding culinary preferences? More importantly, to which individual do you report all these clandestine findings?"
The answers didn’t matter. Despite the blonde negotiator’s theatrical reassurance that ‘the dogs’ had been called off Bernard wasn’t convinced to the armistice. Bernard had realized the wily manipulator was playing him for a fool; trying to glean as much information from the red headed troublemaker for the listening audience as possible. As the conversation progressed the Sensitive had noted the captive operative’s interest in the direction of the living room door. He had also noted the subtle change in position as the man sat up and leaned forward as he rattled off his inquiries.
Seemingly without provocation or notice the Sensitive lashed out activating the Zenith blade now held firmly in his left hand in an effort to lop off the head and end the defenseless operative’s subversive tactics. If Bernard’s assumptions were correct there was more than one way to get the information he wanted from a man like Mr. Beck. He would put that notion to the test and if he was correct Hydra was about to find out just how much trouble the rogue Sensitive could be.
