It was late by the time she got home. Naida walked into the building, taking her jacket off and draping it over her arm as she walked towards the elevator. A gruff looking man wearing a fedora hat had walked in behind her, so she gave him a polite smile and said a small "Hello..." as a greeting. He didn't respond, he just mumbled something and stuck a cigarette in his mouth. It looked like he had a bad day and was also headed to the elevators...
She didn't want to stand next to him so she turned off and took the stairs instead. She used her forearm to press the door open and began a slow jog up the stairs. She was tired and didn't feel like climbing all the stairs up to her room, but it was better than having to stand in awkward silence next to that hobo man. She reached her room and walked down the hall, getting her key ready to open the door. She didn't need it though, Nathan was home and the door was already unlocked for her. She let off a sigh and stepped in. Nathan was sitting on the couch, hunched over and scribbling something on a pad resting on his knee. The TV was going, but the volume was on mute and no sound came out. He was watching the news... Oh crap...
She thought to herself as she set her jacket down on the stool in the kitchen. "Hey, Nate..." She knew what was coming. She grabbed an apple out of the fruit bowl and took a small bite.

Nathan's head twitched to the side slightly as the door creaked and someone stepped in. He could make the shape out from the corner of his eye. He knew it was Naida based on her movement as she walked into the kitchen. He didn't speak as she said hi. He waited a few more seconds before speaking. He let off a sigh as he put a period after his final word in his document that he was writing. He had done it with a bit more force then was necessary and the ink left a small black blotch. It wasn't too noticeable though, Hydra corp wouldn't even see it.
"So I was watching the news earlier... and guess what I saw?" It was a rhetorical question. He didn't give her enough time to reply, he instead kept talking. "A man was put in the hospital today because a Sensitive shot him and sent him flying through a glass window. Witnesses say that the person who did it was a small female wearing a hooded jacket. The police and doctors don't know what type of power knocked the man out, but they are charging any person that is unauthorized to use their powers $500,and the person will have to spend five days behind bars for violating the law..."
Nathan tossed his document on the couch and stood up. "What the hell Naida? We went over this. You can't go around using your powers as a vigilante! What if you got caught? What if the man was armed and had shot you? What were you thinking? You can't be so reckless running around stopping crimes like that." Nathan tried to keep his cool, but it was starting to make him angry with her running around all the time risking her life for no good reason.

After taking a bite from the apple Naida had sat down on the stool. The counter was open so that you could see from the kitchen to the living room. She started watching the images go by on the TV trying to piece together what the story was about. She didn't have to though because Nathan filled her in. They were recapping about the earlier story they aired on TV, and Nathan was now telling her all about it. She stopped chewing her apple and set it down on the counter. Reckless? It wasn't reckless... Maybe it was a little reckless... But she did the right thing...
"The man was armed, and if I hadn't of intervened he would have used the gun. There was a woman with her child walking down the street and the guy was going to mug them. The lady was taking too long and I could tell the guy was high and was on some type of drug. He would have shot her, or the kid... I couldn't just stand there and watch it happen. I had to do something. I know it was the right thing to do. I know I could have been caught, but I wasn't. I was careful and I pulled the hood up over my face so everything worked out fine. I saved the people and I didn't get caught doing it. Look, I know we've been over this before but if I had called the police it would have taken them like thirty minutes to get there. By then it would have been a crime scene, not a robbery in progress. Instead of the story on the news being about a Sensitive saving the day, it would have been about two murders and the police looking for suspects. Come on, even you can't say that what I did was wrong..."

Was armed? That makes it even worse. "Naida you can't say for sure that the guy was going to use the gun on them. He could have just had it to scare them and as long as she gave him the money he would have probably left them alone. You on the other hand were a threat. What if you had missed? He could have aimed the gun straight at you and shot you. Then what? What would I tell mom and dad back home, huh? You may have super powers but you aren't invincible. You can still be hurt, and you can still die. I understand what you are saying, and technically what you did was morally correct... but that doesn't change the fact that you still broke the law. Only citizens authorized by Hydra corp are allowed to use their powers within city limits. We don't have the type of money to pay the fines to keep bailing you out of jail. You may have powers similar to Glory's, but you aren't Glory. I think it's time that you stop and face the truth. Your going to end up getting yourself killed one of these days... Its better to just let the authorities handle these type of things."
Nathan knew what she was saying about saving the people. But for all she knew the police could have been just around the corner and could have stepped in. But what she was doing was just too dangerous. They had already lost their Grandfather a short while ago, he wouldn't be able to take it if he lost her too because she tried stopping some random mugging...
Naida was starting to get angry. Get herself killed? He knew she could repel bullets with her powers, the guy wouldn't have been able to shoot her. Yes, there was a chance one could slip by, but the guy had a standard Rycroft special, he could only shoot one bullet at a time. And everyone knew the things weren't known for their accuracy, so there was a high chance that the shot would have missed her anyways from that distance.
She stood from her chair as he started going on about how the police should have done their jobs. She let off a soft snort at the comment. The police was always late. They couldn't arrive on time if the world depended on it. Oh here we go again about the posting bail... "That was one time I went to jail for using my powers in public. What was that? Three years ago? It hasn't happened since. And I make enough money to compensate for the cost of bail even if I did get caught again for using my powers when I wasn't authorized to do so. And besides, why would I Stop? We both know that that's not going to happen, and why it can't happen..." She walked around the counter so that she was now standing in front of him.
"And why do you keep saying that the police should handle things? You think that they are more qualified for the job than I am? I may not be Glory, but I passed all of the training tests. I'm more then qualified to do the job. I think I've proven that many times in the past. Remember the burning building? I saved all of those people without anyone getting hurt. What about that bank robbery with the hostages? If I hadn't of stepped in things could have gone very badly that day. I may not be Glory, and I may not have all of her powers, but I think I have proven on more than one occasion that I can take care of myself and that I am a capable operative that can handle difficult situations."
She crossed her arms and shook her head. "I'm careful, I hardly ever make mistakes. I passed the test, and I earned my place as a top ranking operative in the training sessions. So why do you keep making things so difficult for me when I go out to do my job? You know what I think the reason is? I think you're just jealous that I was born with powers and you weren't..."

Nathan listen to her go on. He now also crossed his arms. The two of them facing off to try to force the other to see that their view on things was the right view. He shook his head. His jaw clenching tight as he began to get angry about her argument. Qualified? Yes. But does that change the fact that the job was still overly dangerous? No, it did not.
"Jealous? You think I'm jealous that I'm not a... a.. Sensitive? No... I'm not jealous. I have my own skills that I am proud of. I don't need super powers to know that I can do my job effectively..." It was true that the police were actually less qualified then she was when it came to stopping crimes. So why did he think they should be getting shot and killed and saving lives instead of her? Because they weren't his sister that was why. He didn't give a crap if they got shot. It was on the news all the time that a officer was shot in the line of duty, or a gang member was killed by a rival gang. But they weren't related to him. Naida didn't seem to understand that. She was already sick, he didn't understand why she was trying to cut her life short by living on the edge.
He could tell this wasn't going to get any where. He decided to take a different approach to things to reach her on another level. "Look..." He let off a sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose for a second. "I'm proud of you, kid. I know it was a lot of hard work to get to where you are now. But you're still my little sister. It's my job to look after you. When we moved here without mom and dad they put me in charge to look after you. I can't go calling them up all the time saying that you're in the hospital or in jail. I know you signed up to save lives and all, but try to look at things from my point of view. What if I was the one at gun point trying to stop the crime and I got shot and killed? If I didn't come home, wouldn't you be worried? If I kept placing myself in danger, wouldn't you get concerned? So I'm asking you... Stop for my sake. Promise me that you will stop going out on the field and that you will choose to transfer to be a technician. You can still help by running surveillance and directing the other Opertives to a crime location. And at least you won't be putting your own life in danger. So promise me that you'll stop. Promise you'll make the job transfer..."

Nathan paused. And she saw it. He had spoken the words 'sensitive', but she could tell he was really thinking the word 'freak'. He never came out and said it, but she could tell he didn't like that people had powers and were using them out in the open. But she wasn't going to say anything about it. Naida shook her head. She knew Nathan. He was way too overprotective and controlling. He wasn't going to back down until she saw things his way. They would be standing here all night arguing about who was right and what she should do. This was what she wanted. She worked for it. She earned it. She wasn't going to stop just because he asked her too. If she was going to die, at least she died as a hero. Someone that earned peoples respect by doing the right thing. At least her life would have some type of meaning...
She shook her head again. "Sorry, Nate. But like I said, we both know I can't do that..." She walked away towards her room and closed the door behind her. She could have kept trying to argue her case to get him to see things her way, but she knew that wasn't going to happen. The easiest and best way to end the conversation was just to walk away. He wouldn't understand until he saw things her way by putting himself in her shoes. She sat down on her bed and laid back. Letting her legs hang over the edge of the bed as she stared up at the ceiling. She wondered what Glory's life was like when she wasn't wearing the mask, and if she had to go through the same thing with her family when she went home? She thought about all the things that had happened in the day and slowly started to cry. She put one hand over her face and stayed that way until she fell asleep...

Nathan was now getting angry when he saw her shake her head. "Naida..." He put his hands on his hips and looked down at the floor. He bit his lip and shook his head as she said she wasn't going to stop being a crime fighter. "Naida... I tell you the truth... Naida?" She was now walking away and going towards her room. "Naida don't walk away from me. We're not done-" She closed the door. He let off an agitated grunt and threw his hand in the air.
"I tell you the truth that girl is going to get herself killed one day..." He ran a hand down his face and began to pace the room. He picked up the remote. The news was now showing two more cases, one where a sensitive had murdered a man in a bar because he caught the guy cheating with his wife, and the other was a shoot out with a cop near some bank. "What is the world coming to..." He clicked the TV off and tossed the remote on the couch. He slid the document in a manila envelope and sealed it closed. He would send it off to Hydra corp in the morning. He walked down the hallway towards his room, stopping for a second to stare at Naida's door. "Hmph..." He shook his head one more time and walked into his own room. He loosened his neck tie and threw it over the side of the bed. He sat down next to his tie and started taking his shoes off. He stopped and stared at the floor for a second. He felt uneasy...
"Hmm. I can tell that tomorrows going to be a long day..." He let off a final sigh as he got up to turn off the light.
((The day has ended. It is now the start of Day: 1 in the RP...))

Nathan was the first one to get up, as always. He had showered and dressed and was ready for work. He walked into the kitchen to see that the apple Naida had taken a bite out of the day before was now spoiled. Ants had gathered around it and had formed a small horde around the spoiled fruit. "Naida... seriously..." He kicked the trash can over to the counter with his foot and used the broom that was leaning up against the wall to knock the apple into the trash. He scooted the trash can with his foot back in its proper place in the corner of the kitchen. "Naida, its time to go to work! Come on, we're going to be late!" He adjusted his neck tie and picked up his brief case as he waited by the door for his sister.
