Now the ESP-900 gloves really DO add a SP boost to your max SP limit. ;D That is a good choice. It is a must have for Sensitives that are planning on using their powers more than weapons. I'm going to edit all of the stats on the items and weapons after the bank battle is over, that way we don't get confused with the stat change. I may have to change the max SP bonus for the gloves when I start adjusting the stats of the other weapons.
About the Critical fail. I like that guns jam, but not so much that melee weapons/fists break. Especially if Carson went to throw a punch and some how broke his own hand in the process. That would be embarrassing. What if that was the downside to using guns VS melee weapons? Critical fails can break/jam guns, but fists, super powers, swords, and clubs, will all be immune to the Critical fail effect.
It would give a purpose to the "Disable Weapon-Type 2" skill that works as a weapon breaker. So in order to break melee weapons you would have to use that skill.
Disable Weapon-Type 2: -Requires Strength Skill- If you have the Strength skill (and a heavy weapon), you may break your opponents weapon, causing it to be useless for the rest of the battle. This move will cancel your enemies next attack turn. (Roll 50 or higher for a successful chance roll, or roll higher than enemy for (D30) combat.) Restrictions: Cannot use twice in a row.
Would that be better?

The disable weapon skill is an active motion to take an opponent's weapon out of the equation. The critical fail (broken hand ect) take into account murphy's law. Perhaps Carson was unlucky and caught his hand against Bernard's thick skull. It's a random effect that could happen to anyone at the most inopportune time.
The ESP 900 is but a pipe dream. Time is quickly running out and Bernard can onlygather so many one dollar bills at a time.
I wanted to be out of there before the reinforcements arrived but that looks like it is unlikely to happen at this point if I want to achieve my financial goal.
I think Lloyd has forgotten the terms of our agreement. Benard stated he could keep anything he could carry out with him in exchange for getting him through the doors.
Just a note, it is next to impossible to take down two 80hp guards in three combat turns before help arrives. I can't wait to see the reinforcements that will be added to the mix. ~sarcasm~ good thing I have an exit strategy.
((Search roll- I can’t get no satisfaction = 62+4(observation)= 66 Success))
((Money Roll 2= 100 x “??” = SHOW ME THE MONEY ASH!!!))
So much changed with the 100 result from my initial scribbling. As you can see, I incorporated a slightly different approach than pure cash value. The money roll will net Bernard an additional $5000. The critical success tied in with the observation roll will relate to the explosion revealing a few intact safety deposit boxes (d3 roll??) upon his exit. We can use the contents to contain a secret to push the story along at a later time. A small bonus of cash or weapons found inside wouldn't be bad either. HINT HINT ESP 900......I know keep dreaming.
I went to post this yesterday but apparently I his preview and failed to submit. I think I have settled upon a celebrity picture to represent Bernard. The hair doesn't have the reddish tone I originally envisioned but the look works for me.

Lets start with the roll. So you got a perfect 100, critical success? How do we want to do this... Since we are using Criticals now this will boost your money value a bit.
Time for some mathematics! We will add a bonus to your cash amount since you used Observation to find the extra money instead of a standard search roll, and will add that on to your total. You say he will find an intact safety box, lets put more money in there for him to find at a later time instead of random items because I don't even know how I would go about picking random items to place in those safety boxes. I mean come on, the chances of someone putting the gloves in the box and him finding it intact is ridicules.
Time to calculate the money. Here is what I have in mind for the money he finds.
Lets do: 100 (perfect roll)+66 (observation roll)=166. And then: 100X166 for the critical. So that gives you: 16,600. +4450 (from your first grab) gives you a grand total of! =21,050.
He will not know he has this amount though until he opens the other safety box and counts the money. Does my method of adding up the money make sense? If so, we will use this for any future bank robberies.
Ah, that pic helps a lot with imagining how he looks. Now all he needs is the toque. I do a lot of digital picture editing, so if you want I could edit the pic and attempt to make his hair more of a reddish orange color like you describe in his bio. Here is a pic I edited for a character I used in another past RP: Original

The ESP-900 was tongue in cheek I like what you came up with for cash. It adds a bonus without being outrageous enough that I give up the life of crime. Like that would happen.
I figured the safety deposit box would provide some extra cash. Kind of why I switched gears taking out the wall of security boxes providing escape. Item withing the boxes were just an idea. I think documents or pictures that would add a future story line would be helpful as well.
If you get the time I wouldn't mind seeing what you can do with the photo edit. I think Bernard's eyes are listed as slate blue.
Okay, I'll get to work on the picture. I'll PM it to you as soon as I'm done.
Pictures or important documents in the safety boxes...? Hmm... That is a good idea! It is still a bit early in the story, but yeah, lets go for it. I do have some secret documents written out but they are broken down into parts. Do a D10 roll on the dice log to see which part of the document you find. Obviously you won't understand them until you get all of the documents and put them in order.
It would be really funny if you get one that gives away a large part of the story.

I'll make the d10 roll when I actually open the lock box. That way I discover the information on the document the same time as I get the bonus cash.
Now to get out of Dodge.
Since I am the closest to the explosion I am probably going to do an attack roll to simulate the blast. If it beats my current protection I will assume some damage from the situation. Sound fair?? Any Modifiers you would like to add??

That all makes sense. Hmm, I can't think of any other reasons why he should take more or less damage from the blast, so the one roll should be enough. No extra modifiers will be needed. And then after you post, the reinforcements will finally arrive on the scene! ;D (After Lloyd and the guards post that is)
When Bernard decides to open the box, I will also trigger the next event. With Bernard's new stash of cash he will be able to buy new equipment, and with new equipment he will be strong enough to survive for what comes next...

Likely won't happen until the next morning. He should have to aquire (or improvise) tools of some sort to pick the lock(s). That also involves some skill rolls at -20. We will have to see just how lucky I continue to be with the rolling.
Speaking of new equipment....will the new modifiers be up after this holdup??
Next Event??? Damn and I was hoping to lay low and forge some relationships. No rest for the villainous.
I should have the new stats up soon. I have to lower certain stats to the armor, and raise certain stats for weapons. Trying to check and balance everything to make sure it is right. But with the change in weapon stats, I may also have to change the VBS serum stats. Because as you can imagine, the boost they give may not be enough now. I'll get to that later though, so we'll see...
This next event is going to play out a whole lot different from the first one. In fact, Bernard might get involved with it and may not even know it. It isn't as "in your face" as the last event. This one will be a lot more subtle, but will also play a bigger part in the main story arc.
