That is kind of why I played it that way. I had already determined out of character that the vision was jumbled and thought it a good opportunity to RP.
As for hero, I thought it might be helpful since many of the participants are MIA. Bernard will inevitably spiral out of control. These initial steps as 'hero' may provide some basis for why he isn't outright destroyed later. Perhaps they see something in him or feel responsible for the way he turned out.
EDIT: I figure my next chance at redemption is with the man with the fedora. Although I may well be the one who puts the bullet in him to get what I want.

Okay, it has officially been one week since Dennis has logged on to the site. I'm going to have to give him a prod and ask him what's up. I hope he didn't drop out, and if he did I would prefer it if he let us know before hand so that we wouldn't wait for him to post.
And my mind is already working on a plot line with Hydra and Bernard. They wouldn't want to "destroy" him if they ever caught him. No, they have something else planned. ;D
*Sigh* Poor Bennett, he is going to be helped by a mysterious biker with a shotgun, only to be betrayed and shot in the back. Tsk, tsk, Mr. Bernard, you have no shame. lol If he does shoot Bennett, that would be a good story arc for the two because Bennett would then want to know who the guy was and what he was doing on the scene. It would start up a "cat and mouse" story line of Bennett following Bernard's trail of chaos.
Bennett (the man in the Fedora)would only hold me back. He might die anyways if he doesn't give me what I want by handing over what was so bloody valuable that Carson his thugs were after. His choice I've watched him die once. I could definitely see some intrigue in this story line.

This event is going to trigger a series of other events depending on how it plays out. It all depends on if the Aces get away with the supplies or not, so Bernard's choice here is going to not only change the city's current crime rating, but it will also alter the story with where it goes. Choose your side carefully. I'm going to consider this fight to be a small boss battle to help kick off the story so Geoffrey is at full strength with all four skill slots filled.
Anyways, I went on and posted with Geoff and Bennett in Gabriel's crossing. I'm not going to wait for Dennis to post because if we keep waiting we may never get anywhere. I kinda figured that if guests came to visit the site and they see that the site has active posters they might want to jump in and join the site. Well, that is what I am hoping anyways...
Either way, the story will continue on.

I'm all for moving ahead and perhaps gathering some outside interest along the way.Although I don't mind smaller venues to explore character. Please be patient with my response. I'm in the final stages of round two @ Grassroots and my opponent is being a greasy spoon( has an answer for everything) and I have to put some thought into my actions and keep my head.
I understand. I know you are busy so no worries there. At least you keep me posted so that I know when you can or cannot post. I'm reading your battle as you go along and his character just seems to get more and more ridiculous. I love how every weapon she has, even the ones that have left her hand, can be controlled and deactivated by her mind. If the grenade was already primed, and the pin was already pulled, what physically kept it from going off? Was just wondering...
Oh well, looks like you have your hands full with this one.

Oi, role playing on here is a lot different than on RPGW. I forgot how complex the roll dice system is. It took me awhile to readjust to it lol. Alright, I'm done posting for today so if you want to jump in you can. I'll do two more posts tomorrow if I have the time.
My laptop's GFX card is dying and I've been trying to repair it so that I could get a bit of work done. If I try to run anything that requires it I get the blue screen of death. For now I found a temporary fix and it can run more or less without crashing every five minutes. Turns out I had a corrupted DLL file that was messing up the computer, so I had to do a registry fix to try and repair it, and download a few files to keep the laptop from overheating. The graphics card itself is still failing though, so the only way to fix that is to just buy a new laptop...
Anyways, I'm now a bit curious about something... You were asking me questions about your Grassroots fight, and I wanted to know if anyone else in your family role plays, and do you ever ask them about how you should post? Dennis had said he had played Dungeons and dragons the board game and a few others, but I never tried anything that wasn't online. I believe you had said something on the line that your daughter told you about this site... so I was wondering if you guys all role play together?

My daughter dabbles in it a bit. More of a social thing than a past time. But yeah, she kind of drew me back into it. I grew up on ad&d so I am familiar with the system although it has been some time since I sat around a table top paying the system. I do a little warhammer 40k from time to time. Sadly much is creating army lists of late with no actual play time. I have played my fair share of warhammer fantasy as well but it always seemed that the biggest baddest hero dominated the field even when faced with hoards of rank and file. At one point everyone had to have a hero on a dragon just to compete.
Trying to keep my mind in motion A Sensitive ends up with the no powers entry he still gets receives his HP bonus of 150. At one point they retained the ability to bring their life skills up to lvl 20 as well but that had been change to a maximum 10 just like the norms. Does the sensitive receive onlytwo[/u] life skills or does he receive skills like a norm devoting his/her time to life lessons like every other slug?
What about weaknesses? I assume not because they have no actual powers.

Woot, Bernard is back in the game! Geoff is gonna be in for quite the surprise as two shots are fired in his direction. I wonder if he can blur out of the way like Smith from the matrix and dodge all of the shots at once. ;D
As for your question. Well it depends, Norm Sensitives may not be completely normal unless they fail their tutorial and roll a "normal" power type. If that is the case they still develop a weakness. The only way to fail the tutorial is if you are a complete delinquent role player that likes purposely causing mess and disrupting story lines. If that is the case then your character doesn't deserve more powers.
The 20/20 life skills thing was confusing too many people so I had to remove it... The Norms still only get two life skills. The reason for this is because if you succeed in your tutorial you will gain a second power type such as "Time alteration". A player that is normal for one ability type (nothing) and has Time alteration for the second would still be quite powerful. But I think I know what you were trying to say. Anyways, I find it unlikely that there will ever be a completely "normal" sensitive. If by some rare chance it does happen, I suppose that they wouldn't have any weaknesses and I may just label them as a human with all human abilities (four skills) and a 150 HP boost...
My last question about you role playing and if your family role played had a bit of purpose to it. I have been thinking about the power system and my own battle system for this role play (especially after participating in the battle arena of RPGW). Perhaps now that the others have dropped out, it would be a very good time to make any major modifications to the system.
I went back to reread your PM about the SP power modifier so that sensitives could sling more power around, but I'm looking at complexity. I want them to be strong, but not cheating. I'm not sure how to go about making them stronger without making things more complex...
If you have any table top rule books laying around and such, let me know if any of them have a system that we could use for the super heroes. Something that makes them stronger, but will be easy enough to teach new players that have never used the system before. You don't have to do it right away of course, but when you get some time.
We could keep raising the level cap, but that would just make them have an almost unlimited amount of power, you know? That wasn't really what I was looking for. I may use your power modifier to boost their SP limit. I might test it out in a RP battle just to see how it works...
