Naida cupped her hand to her nose and nodded her head. "Thanks... I'll head home now." She lied though. She wasn't going home just yet because she promised that woman, Wavelink, that she would have the datastick for her tonight. Time flew by so fast she barely had time to work the bank case. She picked a few tissues out of a box from an officer's desk and used them to stop her bloody nose.
She waved a hand goodbye to Carlyle and left the police building. The fresh air hit her and it was cool and refreshing. She took in a long deep breath, and then quickly regretted it. As soon as she inhaled she doubled over in pain and vomited on the ground. She stayed that way for a couple of minutes curled up in the fetal position and holding her stomach. When was the last time she took her medication? Two, three days ago? It was just after the bridge robbery. She got sick and spent the night in the rejuvenation tank. Doctor Guy gave her the shot to make her... better...

“….. emotions are running high because of current financial issues and the skyrocketing crime rate. Chief Murphy says that he is still working hard to keep the peace, but he is urging people to watch what they say and show some restraint so that they don't further burden the police force. Due to the increase in crime and the sudden increase in Hydra activity, the police say that they don't have enough resources, or the proper funding to keep a steady stream of officers on the field. They are planning on layoffs later this month to help make ends meet..."
“Hummph!” Keiko snorted, “It’s no wonder the city is going to hell. Have you seen what the department is offering its recruits? Seriously, we are to put our lives on the line for a $150 a day plus some meager incentive bonus without even a stick. Cheap bastards expect you to get shot up so they supplement the ‘city's finest’ with stimpacks instead of giving them something to defend with. Crime rates are up because the police force is inadequately equipped to handle these armed menaces. Wave that pen and notepad at them boys....due to budget restraints it's the best we can issue. Heck, they might as well just send us out with a toe tag carrying our own cardboard box.” Keiko retorted straightening the crisp collar of her newly acquired OPD uniform in front of the reflective glass that lined the walls of the reception area. "It just doesn't seem right."
“Keep it down Kei, nobody said they were going to open the vaults and throw money at us when we transferred from Tokyo. They did assume the initial fee for the apartment. Regardless of what we’re given we can still make a difference. The colors we’re to wear may be different, but the job is still the same. Like it or not, we all took an oath to serve and protect; wherever that may be."
"It's not that Maseko, it's just......well, Atsuko isn't even out of the woods and yet, here we are.”
"You know she's in good hands sis," came the compelling reassurance from Kameko. "No use stressing over matters beyond our control. Ayako will let us know as soon as there is any change in her status. Besides, maybe the work will be enough to distract us from beating ourselves up over what transpired.”
"Anybody else and we would have taken out the subject without a second thought." Keiko insisted.
"You know that's not true." Maseko interjected.
"Come on, even Atsuko didn't take the threat seriously. She was still trying to talk him down when it all went to S*** in a handbag."
"That's OUR JOB," echoed the line of synchronized reasoning provided by her sisters.
"And look where it got her!" Kieko huffed, throwing up her arms in frustration as she fought back the tears that began to well up in her deep brown eyes.
"Excuse the interruption, officers." The receptionist interceded, seemingly unaffected by the unfolding drama from her front row seat. "Chief Murphy will see you now."

Bennett pulled up in the lot and parked the squad car, he didn't bother handing in the keys because he would be leaving in the car again.
Bennett flashed his badge at the security officer stationed by the door and was just about to walk in when the guard stopped him. "Wait! You got a package. Just need you to sign for it." The old man lifted up a large box and slid over a clipboard with paper and a pen. Bennett signed for the box and lifted it up and almost dropped it on the ground because it was so heavy.
He cursed under his breath and carried the box over to his desk and slammed it down. He was too old to be carry such crap around. The box was labeled as a secure Hydra package and was hand signed by Rycroft. He grunted and proceeded to open the box.
Inside was a large metal briefcase with no apparent lock, yet it was being held closed by something unseen. The only thing located on the outside of the case was a small thumbprint scanner and a note that read- Confidential. For Detective Bennett's eyes only.
That made him feel special, well... not really. He grunted and jammed his thumb into the scanner. After a second the scanner beeped and turned blue and he heard a pressurized lock give way to allow the briefcase to snap open.
Inside was a large stack of files and folders all smashed inside; there were dozens of them. He opened the first folder and found about twenty pages inside, he opened the next folder and found about the same amount of pages. All of the documents contained Hydra information. He flopped down in his chair and stared at the pile of files on his desk.
"I'm going to be here all day..."
Just then, he heard Murphy open the door to his office and shout. "Bennett, my office. NOW!"

((Bennett is now a NPC, but I wanted to finish this last post.))
Bennett looked up as he heard Murphy's voice. He had been digging through the files all day and hadn't made much progress. Hydra had hundreds of agents that were killed the past few months and trying to narrow it down to figure out what was going on with the company and who was behind it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
He had to weed through the ones that died of natural causes, the ones died in the field, and others who died from unknown means, it was the last group that had him scratching his head because even Hydra was unsure of the cause of death.
He found it all interesting. He wanted to bury himself into his work to get to the bottom of it... Maybe, just maybe he would find a lead to what had helped lead to his daughter's death. With a sigh he stood to his feet and closed the metal briefcase. He heard the pressurized lock snap back in place as it sealed shut. He took the case with him and walked into Murphy's office.
"What?" He asked dryly.
"Normally I would yell at you to show some respect, but I've got bigger problems today. Hydra contacted me this morning about quarantining a part of the suburbs off because of a radiation leak. They say that they will handle it today but they need officers stationed there to keep people from wondering back in. The whole thing sounds fishy, so I need you to head down there and help keep the calm and figure out what was really going on in the area."
Bennett thought about it for a second and then nodded his head. "Sure, I can do that. If Hydra is hiding something, I'll find it."
"Good!" Murphy shouted. He went on to say- "We have also been receiving complaints from the citizens that they don't like the way Hydra went about doing their job, so now the Mayor wants to speak with me about dealing with the people and Hydra corp. It's a real mess. On top of that I have the news station crawling up my rear demanding that I arrest Rycroft for murdering Bianca Saint-John. We have no proof that she is dead though, there is no trace of her at all. So I also need you to go look into that. Get me something that I can work with here, anything at all! I'm surrounded by a bunch of incompetent infants pretending to be police officers and no one is making any progress. If I don't have something for the public by the end of the week people might start taking matters into their own hands. We CANNOT afford a riot right now, do you understand?!"
Bennett nodded again. "Yeah, I got it. I didn't know Bianca Saint-John went missing. Tell me, who is working the Saint-John case now?"
"That would be officer Carlyle. He was the last one to investigate her disappearance, but he didn't find anything. He said he searched her house but came up empty. He said the place had no leads. It's like a bunch of ghosts went in and took her away."
Bennett took a deep breath. "I'll talk to Carlyle and find out what he knows. Maybe we can work this one together. I know Hydra, if they want something to go away without anyone knowing, they can make it happen with a snap of their fingers. I currently have some files on hand about some strange events going on within Hydra, maybe I can find a lead linked to Bianca's disappearance and this strange radiation leak. I'll let you know what I find."
With that Bennett turned on his heels and left Murphy's office. "This is going to be a long week. I need to get a stiff drink or two..."
((Any progress Bennett makes will now be reflected in News events since I will no longer be playing him as an actual character.))

((I know I haven't posted as Naida for awhile, I thought more time would free up but work has been very busy recently. I'm trying to get a few projects done that have taken more time than I thought.
Anyways, this post is continued from the News Station. -6 SP))
Naida fell off the rooftop of the Daily chronicle news building and plummeted towards the ground for a split second. She extended her arms and legs to slow her fall, gathered in energy, then released it behind herself to propel her body up and forward towards the police station. A blue streak of energy traveled out behind her as she shot up through the air like a rocket and glided the rest of the way to her destination.
She used a bit more power to direct her movement, but majority of it went to slowing her fall. As she approached the rooftop she shot a blast of energy down at her feet to slow her fall and landed on the surface stumbling to a stop. It wasn't a graceful landing, but it was the first in a long time that resulted in her landing on her feet without falling flat on her face. The roof was clear and there was no sign of dead bodies or blood, but she did notice a few gun shell casings, someone had been shooting from the rooftop. She ran over to the edge and looked over to see what the ground looked like.
Riot officers were still rounding up rioters, handcuffing them and hitting a few fighters with their batons, but she saw no sign of the mayor. The sun had now risen and the bright of day made the damage from the riot clear, this part of the city was in ruins.
She put a finger to her ear and spoke to her operative. "I arrived at the OPD, no sign of the mayor yet. The police seem to have gained control of the situation though. I'm moving inside."
"Keep us posted." Was the reply.
She opened the door that led off the roof and into the building and proceeded to quickly jog down the stairs and walked out of the stairwell into the main work room, and it was there that she was greeted by a few familiar faces.

The main lobby had been turned upside down. There was debris, bullet holes, and people all over the floor; the latter were sitting down and resting and appeared to be alive. Naida stopped and looked down at one of the resting officers that was sitting on the floor holding his ribs. "Where is the Mayor and Chief of police? Are they still alive?"
The officer nodded his head and grimaced in pain. "Yeah, they are in Murphy's office. Just follow the hall down..." He said weakly as he pointed towards the office.
"Thank you. Take it easy, okay? Help is on the way, Hydra is sending a medical team soon, just hang in there." Naida gave the man a comforting pat on the shoulder and walked to Murphy's office. The door had been left open and both the Mayor and the Chief of police were sitting down drinking scotch from the bottle.
Murphy raised the glass in acknowledgement. "If it isn't Hydra's star agent. Glad to see you haven't kicked the bucket yet. Nice of Hydra to send one of their Sensitives AFTER the party ended. Where in the blazes of hell were you when we needed you? I tell you the truth, a bunch of lazy bums these days! And to think they call their sorry behinds "Heroes". Heroes my ass..." He took another swig from the bottle and then passed it to his friend.
Naida flinched and bit her tongue. The first thing she did was put her finger to her ear. "Deaf-Ears, I have located the Mayor and the Chief of police. I have them in my sight and I can confirm that both are alive and healthy. Send a medical unit anyways please."
"Roger that. We have confirmation that the Mayor's daughter is alive and safe as well." Came the reply before the line disconnected again.
Naida looked to the Mayor. "Sir, we need to get you to Hydra Corp HQ ASAP to keep you and your daughter safe. I will need you to come with me." She extended her hand to help him to his feet.
The Mayor raised a hand to halt her and stood up on his own. "I can't yet. Murphy and I decided that we're making a public announcement first to tell that we are both alright and that this crime won't go unpunished. After that we're launching a full on retaliation strike against the gangs of this city. Osiris has gone from bad to worse, it's time we clean up the streets. We're heading out at night fall. This is a dark mission and it will not be announced, we need to strike before the gangs have a chance to recover and go into hiding."
Murphy nodded his agreement and folded his arms over his chest.
Naida shook her head. "But sir, your men are badly injured and just got done fighting and defending the police station. I think you should all rest and come with me."
Mayor Ronson continued. "That's a negative. Either Hydra can lend us their support and help with the raid, or stay out of our way. If you're coming with us then you better rest up and grab something to eat. That's final." He gave a nod of his head and handed the Scotch back to Murphy then pushed his way passed Naida to head back out to the lobby.
Naida looked to Murphy. "This is suicide. Talk some sense to him."
"No can do. This is the best course of action, young lady. We already came up with a plan and Hydra's involvement is a necessity to ensure success. I know we've had our differences over the years but tonight things have got to change. We will either turn this city around in one night or not do it at all. It's now or never. We're meeting in the board room in four hours, you might want to be there."
Murphy put the Scotch on the desk and walked out the room to follow after Mayor Ronson. Naida let off a sigh and put a finger to her ear. "The Mayor refuses to come with me, they want to do a raid against the gangs tonight. They are asking for reinforcements from Hydra. What are my orders?"
There was silence for a little while and then Jeannette came on the line. "Stay with him. We will provide support. Two Sensitives and a few cloned foot soldiers will aid you. We also want to test out some new equipment. Don't leave the Mayor's side."
"Roger that..."

Naida walked out of the Mayor's office and headed into the staff lounge. There was a small TV, a pool table, a couch, vending machines, and a small cot setup for resting and relaxing. She walked over and got $10 worth of snacks out of the vending machines and laid down on the cot. She lifted her mask and devoured the contents in the snack containers before lowering her mask back down and closing her eyes to rest for awhile.
Since she was so exhausted she had drifted off to sleep almost instantly. She was awakened a few hours later by a knock on the door as a female officer peeked her head in. "We're starting the meeting. The Hydra reinforcements and medical team has arrived and we're all waiting for you."
Naida sat up and nodded her head. "Thanks, I'll be there soon."
The meeting room was crowded with wounded officers and Hydra soldiers, those who were badly injured did not attend and was sent to Hydra HQ for proper medical attention. Naida crossed her arms and stood at the back of the room. Murphy was going over the plan with a large map of the city and another badly hand drawn map next to that one, with a third map that looked like blueprints next to that, he was holding a long pointing stick and was slapping at the board.
"It has been confirmed that Sergio Ripper is in fact dead! That is one less gang member we need to worry about. Apparently one of the other gangs got to him first and crossed him off our list for us. That only leaves two gang leaders on the streets, Jestine Landers and Carson Wylde. The vile sharks are the least of our worries, they're gang activity has been minor for the past few months and their activity during the riot was minimal. Carson and the Aces on the other hand have been a thorn in both Hydra and the OPD's side for a long time. Recently the Aces have been hiding, and we think it was because they were planning something big. We have reason to believe that the riot was only part of it. Hydra has accused the Aces of framing them for murder, kidnapping, and more. Bianca Saint-John has confirmed that it was the Aces that had abducted her. Who knows how many other secret crimes they have been behind. On top of this, Hydra has shared with us that some top secret military equipment was stolen from them about a month ago, they believe the Aces have these weapons..."
He pointed to the map and slapped it hard with the stick. "We're heading the Aces tonight. We're sending in four teams and blocking off the entire area to make sure no one gets out. We're taking the entire gang in if we have to. The Mayor has granted us to use lethal force if necessary. Watch your fire though, civilians and children may be in the area. We don't want a repeat of the last Club Exxel raid to happen again tonight. Alpha team will go in through the front, Bravo through the back. Once the area is secured we will send in Charlie and Delta to head down into the Underground, leaving Alpha and Bravo to hold the night club." He slapped the next map.
"Hydra has shared with us old blueprints of an abandon subway station, we believe this is what the underground tunnels are. A lot could have changed over the years so we don't know how accurate these blueprints are, use your best judgement when navigating them. We are planning on detaining one of the Aces and making a deal with them in exchange that they navigate for us. After the Underground is taken, we are to proceed to find their weapon cache and recover as much of the experimental weapons as we can, we burn everything else. Any questions?"
A few people raised their hands but Naida didn't pay attention. She let off an annoyed sigh and shook her head. Normally she was the reckless one, but recent events had shown her that recklessness leads to mistakes and death. This plan didn't sound good in her ears at all. They were practically going into the underground blind, the Aces would have a clear advantage. She looked over to the Mayor and could see the anger on his face, he wasn't thinking clearly; this was all about revenge.
"Alright people, Hydra has a truck with a small armory outside as well as medical supplies for those that need it. Grab what you need and head out!" Murphy finished. Naida did as she was told and headed outside to resupply her gear.

Naida made her way outside to the resupply truck, she didn't talk to anyone on the way and kept to herself. The truck was designed almost like a metal food truck, the sides were doors and opened up to reveal racks filled with weapons, armor, and equipment. There was a Hydra agent inside handing out items to those that requested them, the area was secured with both Hydra elites and OPD officers blocking off the street and keeping a watching eye out for more rioters or delinquents that might try to steal the weapons; if they did, they wouldn't get far.
"I need a Smoke bang, a box of two rubber bullets, Stun cuffs, and two blue stims." Naida said as she held out her hand and collected the items as they were passed to her.
"I need your ID card, I need to scan it for security reasons. I know who you are but, you know how it is." The Agent replied.
Naida did as she was told and the agent scanned her ID card to charge her for the items. She put her new gear into her utility belt bag and checked her SMG's ammo supply, she still had 27 bullets left in the magazine. She was tempted to reload it so that it would be at full capacity for when she got into a fight later, but she decided to leave it as is and slung it onto her back.
One of the agents waved a hand and yelled out. "We're getting reading to move out! Join your team and get in the van! Your team leader will give you further orders from there!"
Arctic Butterfly walked over to Naida and gave her a slight nod of her head. "I've been assigned your squad leader this time. Looks like we'll be working together again. Try to stay with the team this time, no one dies on my watch. Let's move out."

Naida landed on the rooftop of the police station and climbed out of the helicopter. She was wearing the blonde wig that was connected to the pale white Venetian style mask and the iconic black and yellow suit. Her red scarf blew in the wind from the helicopter blade as she walked towards the center of the roof. The SMG was holstered on her back and in her hands was the loaned sniper rifle... that weapon let her know the situation was serious because Hydra normally didn't give these items to Sensitives, the last to use one of these was the new recruit during the bridge heist. The young Sensitive's mind was a mess as a million thoughts ran through her head. Her brother, who she hadn't seen in weeks due to her own reckless plans, those who died in the underground and on the streets because they had failed the mission to stop the terror plot, and then all those who had died or were injured because of her other selfish or reckless acts... the thought of that man's neck snapping came to mind when she had punched him in the face... one act of not being able to control her power led to someone's death... even if he was a criminal, the memory still haunted her.
"Hey! I asked if you were alright? What's going on?!" The man yelled. Naida blinked and focused on the man standing in front of her. She recognized him by his dark coat and fedora, the man seemed to never take the hat off.
"I'm sorry, I was lost in thought. You are detective Bennett, correct? We met after the bank heist about a week and a half ago."
The detective nodded his head. "That's right." he tossed his cigarette on the ground and put it out by smashing it with his foot.
"What's the situation?" Naida asked, of course, the detective knew her by her other code name... Glory.
"Some crazies are rioting in the street, they seem to be a group of Sensitives with super strength flooding the streets. They all have the same yellow eyes and super human strength, we've never seen anything like it. Must be some type of cult or a new gang that decided to come out of hiding. We've lost a lot of good men and we're almost overrun. I'm glad Hydra sent in the big guns." He explained, trying his best to talk over the loud rumble of the helicopter. Now that Naida and her clones were on the ground, the pilot cut the engine and let it die down.
The detective gestured to her weapons. "What's with the guns?"
Naida almost flinched, but she kept her composer. She wanted to say 'I'm not very strong so I use them to make up for my lack of power.'
The costume, it was an image of power to rally those around her. She didn't actually have to be as strong as Glory to inspire others, the image alone often times sent fear into her enemies and brought hope to her allies. And now, she was hoping it would be enough to change the outcome of their current crises. When the news ran the story she was sure the citizens would be filled with hope when they saw her on TV saving the day...
She verbally said "As you said, we brought the big guns. We're not taking chances. We have reason to believe that the earthquake was a terrorist act caused by the Aces. They crossed the line, we're not playing around or taking any chances."
That made Bennett flinch and his mouth dropped open. "I can't believe those crazy bastards went that far... And the raid?"
"We lost a lot of good men... their base was flooded... we have reason to believe they killed themselves in the attack..."
He stared at her in disbelief, then ran a hand over his face and exhaled. He took another cigarette out from his coat and lit it.
Naida knew the feeling, this week had been hard on her and she felt like she was about to break. She clenched her jaw and forced her feelings down.
"We have a job to do. Pull all the officers back, we'll hold our ground here and shoot them from afar. More reinforcements are on the way." She then turned to the clones that had flown in with her and waved a hand.
"Let's clean this up fast. Call in the FMWs."
She walked to the ledge of the building and saw IRA laying there with a sniper rifle of her own. Naida laid next to her and put her eye up to her scope on the sniper rifle.
"We lost contact with you. What happened?" Naida asked.
"I got into combat and my communicator broke." She replied.
Naida looked at her suspiciously, but nodded her head...
In the distance she could see the yellow eyed rioters running through the city. The police had blocked off the street and was holding the line, opening fire on all those who approached. Naida trained her weapon on one of the yellow eyed rioters and pulled the trigger. As if the Consumer knew the bullet was coming, it jumped to the side faster than her eye could track and landed on all fours in a crouch, looking up at the building and turning its attention towards her.
"What the hell are we fighting...?" she whispered.

((I'm combining both posts into one. Focus: 74+48+18(SP)+6(Elite Striker)=146 Damage: 80+5+18(SP)=103 Consumer Evasion: 1+20=21... Took major damage))
The Consumer she shot at had no way of getting up to her, so it turned and joined the others to swarm the soldiers and police holding the line near the front door. They began dodging the bullet fire and pouncing on top of their victims to tear their throat out. It was a bloodbath, the police and Hydra was losing badly. Naida put her eye back up to the sniper rifle's scope. "Detective, tell all of your troops to fall back to the police station and go inside. Lock it down, there is nothing your men can do at this point, I'll give them cover fire."
"I'll tell them. I should let you know that we have about twenty civilians inside the station in the holding cell area in the basement. We couldn't evacuate them in time so we took them inside." Bennett explained.
"I'll do what I can to make sure they don't get in, all we have to do is hold out for the FMWs to get here." She replied. The troops began to fall back but Naida didn't take the shot just yet, the way these things moved was odd to her, they almost didn't seem... human...
Bennett gave the fall back order and the forces on the ground did as they were told and began their retreat, but it wasn't exactly a cake walk for them, most of them were getting torn to pieces... literally...
The monsters on the ground were a different breed of enemy she wasn't used to. The Hydra clones and the police officers slammed the door and barricaded it shut behind them. Naida didn't pay any attention to the Consumers near the front door.
"IRA, direct the clones to take the ones near the door! I'll take the others..." She directed. Naida was aiming out farther into the field... the swarm coming in from the south east. She put more energy into her gun, focusing the electromagnetic pulse around the advanced bullets into a tight little ball to pack a bigger punch. The plan was to use the bullet as a homing beacon since she wasn't strong enough to send the energy out that far on her own. She just kept pumping more and more energy into the condensed ball to make it stronger until it felt like it was going to explode, she could feel the power building, all she had to do was hold on to it and keep a grasp on the energy as it would leave the gun, that was when it would do the most damage.
"Bang..." She spoke the word as she pulled the trigger. The high powered rifle sounded off like thunder, the recoil kicked back and sent the butt stock of the gun slamming into her shoulder, but since she was laying down she was able to manage. The shot was a dead-eye success, not only did it hit the first Consumer square in the forehead, but it then punched through hitting the second Consumer behind it. That's when she released the focus on the energy and caused it to quickly expand outward- the move she called 'The Magnetar Blast'. The energy erupted into a electromagnetic energy field in the shape of a sphere that first exploded outwards, sending out severe blue and red waves of radiation that quickly shot out and burned the surrounding targets, but it didn't stop there. The sphere then imploded in on itself and turned into gravitational force, sucking the remains of the Consumers into a tightly packed gravity field that began to crush them into pieces before the orb of energy shrunk to the size of a grain of rice and collapsed in upon itself and dispersed. The Consumers howled in pain and agony as they were ripped to pieces... Naida knew they weren't human, but the attack wasn't easy to watch as it caused massive damage...
She cleared out a large wave of the Consumers to clear the field and buy the police time for the FMWs to arrive, but in doing so she completely spent all of her energy reserves and was now bone tired. She began breathing hard and felt like she was about to pass out, but she held on and tried her best to focus. The job wasn't done just yet...
Bennett stared in awe at the damage she caused, the cigarette almost falling out of his mouth. The image of Glory was sustained, no one else would know that that impressive display of power literally just took everything she had. But it didn't matter, it gave the illusion that the powerful hero was still alive.
IRA noticed her irragular breathing and looked at her with a cold blank expression on her face. "Are you well?" She inquired. "I'm fine, I just need to rest. Assist the ground forces to the best of your ability. The reinforcements should be here soon. We just need to hold out a bit longer..."
She looked out to the field and saw that more of the monsters were scrambling from the waste lands, from the direction of District Zero. To the North the sound of four helicopters could be heard, pairs of two helicopters carrying one FMW each. They would reach the police station soon to give aid.
"I'm heading down to see how the Chief and the civilians are fairing. You're in charge of the reinforcements, make sure they don't breach the doors until I return!" Naida ordered as she stood up and headed for the rooftop stairs...
