…..Even though I'm here, even if you kill me, nothing changes. We already won. You can't save. them all.."
Spoken like a true Jihadist. She thought as she scribbled into her notebook.
”I wasn’t threatening you.” She corrected. ”Only pointing out that there are no shortage of people out there that want to see you dead. I’m just trying to understand your cause before that happens.”
The Asian officer of the law was looking for answers. All she found was more questions. The saying goes you attract more flies with sugar. Keiko believed you could attract even more with S***.
Keiko reiterated Damien’s profession. ”So, you stole a list.”
”Pertaining to what exactly??”
”I assumed these were your targets. But …. you boasted you no longer need what was in the briefcase." " You got what you came for.”
”Allies? Others like you??” She queried slyly. ”Something called the Court?”
The wily interrogator paused briefly for effect.
”If you truly have already won, there’s no harm in introducing me to the other players. Why not rub the noses of the O.P.D. in it and give me the contacts on that list? Revel in the moment while you can. You deserve it don’t you??”

He took a slow breath, but he didn't seem bothered by the questions. He turned his head back to the interrogator. "I see you've been doing your research. Someone's been talking. Regardless, I have no need to introduce you to the Court... You've already met them. Stick around and maybe you can see them again soon." He suggested before continuing.
"If you already know that the names on the list were my targets, then all you have to do is follow the names. You like playing Detective? Then go play detective. But be careful, you may not like what you find. Ignorance is bliss... You may be in over your head with this one... Now, if you'll excuse me, I need my rest."
He fell quiet and very slowly closed his eyes, feigning to fall asleep.
Merle gave a slight gesture of her head towards the door. "Psh, I think someone's coming... Might be time to go. Hurry up!" she whispered.
Meanwhile, in the hospital hallways...
The police sketch artist, the same woman that had spoken with the witness the day after the bridge chase, walked down the hall towards the Archer's hospital room. She stopped in her tracks when she saw the two guards posted there and just stood there staring at them as she tried to figure out her next move. She wasn't expecting the man on the other side of the door to have a security detail.
One of the officers took a step forward and raised his hand.
"Sorry ma'am, but if you're coming this way, you need to leave. This patient isn't allowed to have any visitors." he instructed.
The young woman gave a slight nod of her head. "Oh, I'm so sorry... I understand. But I'm actually working with the police force, I'm a hired consultant and sketch artist working for the OPD. Here, I have a badge..." she took a small police pass out of her pocket and raised it for the officer to see. The pass allowed her into the station and gave her limited access to walk around without being stopped by every officer she walked by.
"I just came to confirm if the suspect in that room is the same as the man in this drawing... here, just let me show you."
She slowly reached into her messenger bag and removed her sketch book, flipping through the pages until she came to the face of the Archer. She held it up and showed the two guards.
"It's for an ongoing police investigation that I was helping with. I don't need to speak with him, I just need to see him then I'll be on my way."
The second guard shook his head. "Sorry, we'll have to ask you to leave. Unless you have specific instructions from the deputy chief Carlyle himself, we can't let you in. he just went out for a coffee and smoke break. Come back with him, and we'll let you in with permission. Otherwise, you have to go."
The woman nodded her head in understanding. She looked at the hospital door's viewing window as she thought she saw the silhouette of someone moving inside, but after staring for another second, she decided she saw nothing of importance and turned to walk away...

”... You may be in over your head with this one... Now, if you'll excuse me, I need my rest."
Damien slowly closed his eyes. Keiko was about to ask the whereabouts of the list when Merle interrupted "Psh, I think someone's coming... Might be time to go. Hurry up!" She whispered.
Keiko stuck to the outskirts of the room near the doorway as one of the guards stepped forward down the hallway and raised his hand as he spoke.
The woman identified herself as a hired consultant and sketch artist working for the OPD. Kieko discreetly peered out through the small glass window of the recovery door into the hallway as the strawberry blonde showed the guard her police pass. ”Odd, what is she doing here” The female detective wondered at the woman’s presence.
” "It's for an ongoing police investigation that I was helping with. I don't need to speak with him, I just need to see him then I'll be on my way." She pleaded as the guards stood their ground.”Weak excuse” Keiko thought pulling back into the shadows as the blue eyed civilian looked towards the recovery room.
”Damien indicated I had met members of Court and they would appear if I stuck around. Was the sketch artist one of them?” The Asian female detective queried as the woman’s footsteps faded away.
She had so many more questions to ask the young man in the room but time wasn’t on her side. Keiko opened a channel to communicate with Merle.
”Merle, You find it odd that a civilian consultant was so intent getting some face time with the suspect? I need you to follow her and see what she’s up to. Be careful though. I think there is more than meets the eye with this one. I’ll catch up to you soon. I’m on my way out now.”
Keiko collected her chair bound sibling and escorted her from the recovery room.
”He’s stable and resting comfortably.” Atsu commented as her sibling wheeled her between the guards. ”Despite his current incarceration the patient is insisting that he’s won. We’re not quite sure what to make of it. Might be the drugs speaking but he’s obviously disturbed.”
”Well, I had better keep moving. I’ve still got some rounds to complete. Come on Kei. We’ll can catch up some more while I work. I’ll swing by later to check on the patient's progress.” She assured as the raven haired detective wheeled her away.
"Thanks sis I owe you one." Keiko expressed when the pair was out of earshot. "Don't think I would have made it past the guards without you. I'm going to have to pass on that opportunity to catch up. Right now I've got to follow up on a few things, Watch out for Carlyle. He's going madder than a wet hen if he finds out I accompanied you in there."
"Don't worry about me. Kei. I'll handle Jamie Carlyle just fine if he comes."
"Yeah, It's odd. She shouldn't be investigating this alone without another officer present. I'll follow her and keep you posted." Came the reply from Merle in regards to Keiko's concerns. Merle kept close to the side of the wall and a wide following distance as she move passed the two posted guards - who simply gave a nod of their head in acknowledgement as she went by, and followed the artist down the hall and out the hospital. There was a teal colored Warrigal Sedan parked in the lot that the woman walked to and climbed into the driver's seat of the car. She sat there for a while, texting on her cellphone, before she started the engine and slowly began to pull out of the parking space. Merle cursed silently as she jogged down the lot to find her own car, climbed inside, backed up and sped down the parking lot to catch up to the strawberry haired blonde before she left the parking lot and turned down Warden street heading south.
"Sorry Kei, had to ditch you to keep up with the sketch artist. She's heading southbound on Warden. I'll tail her and see where she goes and keep you updated on where she goes. I'll try not to follow too closely!" She exclaimed. The excitement was clear in her voice as she gave chase. This was the most fun she's had on the job in a long time.

”Southbound on Warden.” Keiko reiterated. ”Got it!”
There were several ‘leads’ that Keiko wished to follow at the moment. Starting with the victims of the Viacanne massacre and any connection they might have with Hydra; Damien Vega and his connection to Hydra. That much hatred must have spawned somewhere. Keiko realized much of the Hydra achieves were destroyed in the outbreak. Still, resumes contained work history and references. Maybe she would get lucky.
Then there was the mysterious list. Contacts or potential victims the current executive of Viacanne obviously knows more than he was willing to share with the O.P.D. Perhaps he would be a little more forthcoming with his information when faced with her masked persona “Deliverance” But that would have to wait.
Then there was the bluebird and her feud with the Archer. Something that Vega seemed reluctant to discuss. And the possibility of a secret society of Vigilantes she called the Court pulling the strings.
Right now the most promising issue was the unexpected appearance of the strawberry blonde sketch artist. She too was apparently more involved in all this than first appeared. Whether part of this Court or something else was unknown but right now she was a likely suspect to begin to fill in the gaps.
Perhaps Damien was right and Keiko was in over her head on this one. If such was the case Merle may require backup sooner than later.
”Taxi!! She yelled as she exited the Viacanne facility.
Jumping in the yellow transit vehicle she gave the instructions. ”Take me south on Warden. I’m looking for a neon green dribbler.”The officer explained.

Brave Bird stood on the top of the rooftop across from Vaiacane with her crossbow in hand. "This isn't my first rodeo." She said sharply.
"I mean, I'm in position. Moving in. Cut the power." She attached her grappling hook to the end of her crossbow then fired it across the parking lot to attach to the wall near the middle floor of the building across from her. She jumped off the roof and repelled across the lot in the cover of darkness, her blue poncho blowing in the wind as she sailed through the air. That's where her parents came in, they remotely cut the power to the building and the entire parking lot and building went dark.
"You'll have a few minutes before the backup generator kicks on, but it won't trigger any alarms. Make it quick." Abigail's mother said over the closed channel they were sharing.
Brave Bird's feet touched the glass window elegantly and she went to work opening the window the same way she did at the hospital and climbed inside. "I'm in. I just have to find Riley..."
She began walking briskly through the halls to find Riley's office.

"I'm in. I just have to find Riley..."Brave Bird announced.
The adjacent building and parking lot were dark and Abigail began her search through the halls for Riley. Whether Keiko would admit it or not her mind was somewhere else.
There was little other explanation for the circumstances she now found herself facing. She should have heard her guest coming long ago. Keiko was in the midst of turning and give her brooding runaway the what-for for inconsiderately showing up in the middle of an ongoing op she was cautioned to stay away from when the ominous message was announced.
”FREEZE!! Put your hands where I can see them.”
With the aid of the technology provide by the mask she had procured and integrated into her costume the luminous beam pointed in her face had little impact obscuring the armed female officer issuing the directive. The visitor was not whom she expected.
”Maseko??” The costumed vigilante queried of the individual pointing the Rycroft special in her direction before exclaiming. ”Mase! It’s me!”
”Don’t make me shoot you!” The female law enforcer warned. ”Hands behind your head and interlock your fingers. I’m sure you know the drill. And then we’re going to talk about what you’ve done with my sister.”
Maseko believed the individual in front of her to be the elusive Brave Bird. The one responsible in abducting her sibling in order to orchestrate her escape. Keiko complied fully with the mandate as stated. Realizing that she had forgotten about the voice synthesizer that David had installed into the headgear to further mask her identity the fugitive negotiated a compromise.”I’m just going to remove my mask. Then we’ll talk. OK?”
”Slowly.” The female pointing the gun cautioned.”I’m not in the mood for any of your tricks. I WILL shoot you!”
Her skeletal feature-like mask removed. The true identity of the blue clad vigilante was revealed.
”Keiko???....I thought……….I thought you were dead. How?........Why haven’t you?......Merle?.....Is she???”
In that moment, the answers didn’t matter. Overcome with emotion, Maseko lowered the weapon and rushed over, arms opened wide, to give her presumed lost forever sibling a huge loving hug. The two sisters had always had a unique connection. They were inseparable in their youth. Always together; like peas in a pod. That special bond was about to be reinforced tenfold. Maybe more.
As the reunited siblings embraced something truly remarkable transpired. The raven haired operative had felt it once before; only briefly. Only this time Kieko was more aware of what was happening. Inexplicably their bodies merged. The two look-alikes became one. Their minds synced. Keiko’s to Mase’s. Mase’s to hers.
Keiko felt empowered. A new found strength that she had never felt before. She was now seeing the world through her sibling’s biomechanical eyes.
”What the hell just happened?” Maseko’s voice echoed through Keiko’s mind.
”I don’t know.” Came the telepathic reply. ”It’s only happened once before. Last month in the waiting room at Viacanne.”
”Atsu.” The newly acquired roommate commented finishing her sibling’s train of thought. As few as they were, there was no longer any secrets between them. With the shared consciousness Maseko had the answers to all her questions. Well most of them. ”So this is what it is like inside that mind of yours lately? Fascinating.”
There were no words only this resounding thought. She WAS one of them. A Sensitive.

Abigail heard the weird chatter over her headset as she walked through the halls. She located a nearby janitors closet and slipped inside as one of the guards walked past and carefully closed the door as she waited for him to pass. "Keiko, wants happening?" She whispered, but there was no reply. Her partner was busy talking to someone else, an unexpected guess. "Something's wrong. I think Keiko's been compromised" She said to her parents over the headset.
"Don't sacrifice the mission!" Her father commanded. "Keiko can handle herself, just stick to plan. There's nothing you can do now anyways!" "But..." Abigail started. She knew that going back now wouldn't help, there would be no way to get across the rooftop and reach Keiko in time anyways. Besides, they came this far, Keiko would want her to see the mission through.
"Alright, I'm on my way..." she said hesitantly.
Abigail couldn't help but feel like Merle would have been a nice pair of extra eyes right now to help scout the area, but it was what it was.
She slipped out of the janitor's closet and found Riley's office, the light was still turned on and he was inside. She opened the door and stepped in as quietly as she could.
"Hello, Riley... I have a few questions to ask you..." she said softly as she slowly walked across the room toward's his desk.
The older man looked up with a start and stumbled out of his chair, his eyes going wide as the blue clad figure approached him.

If were nor for the digital internal clock of the synthetic mental processor enhancement Keiko would have been relatively unaware of the time that had passed during the brief period she and Maseko had been united. The combination had provided an almost euphoric sensation of heightened sight, smell, taste, touch and sound far beyond what she had encountered during her previous experience.
Perhaps it was this altered state of awareness that had attuned her to the light that was once again emanating from Riley’s office. The older man had stumbled out of his chair, his eyes wide as the blue clad figure approached him e older man. ”S***.” Keiko pronounced towards her indiscretion as she scurried back to her nest to afford the support she was intended to provide.
Looking through the eyepiece of the tactical gun scope attached to her HSR-25 she had a far crisper image of her target. She could literally see the beads of sweat as they began to form along the receding hairline of his pasty white forehead.
”How do you want to play this BB?" Keiko announced. "I could place a shot close enough to make our obstinate executive wet himself if he persists in being reticent. Just give the word. Maybe he'll be a little more responsive if he thinks somebody is there to silence him before he sings.”
The voice of her roommate clamored in her head. ”Isn’t that a bit extreme?”
”We are here to get answers. Enough of Keller's secrets.”Came the sibling's reply.

Brave Bird walked further into the room and stood close to his face. Keiko came back, providing her input on how things should play out. That meant that whatever just happened Keiko had handled it without any problems. She would ask her about it later.
”How do you want to play this BB?" Keiko announced. "I could place a shot close enough to make our obstinate executive wet himself if he persists in being reticent. Just give the word. Maybe he'll be a little more responsive if he thinks somebody is there to silence him before he sings.”
Brave Bird liked the sound of that, but she didn't know how to respond without tipping their target off. As luck would have it, Riley Keller was willing to cooperate.
"Don't hurt me! I-I'll tell you whatever you need to know!" He shouted as he put his hands in the air and attempted to back away further.
She let off a sigh. "Sounds like a plan." She said to both her partner and Mr. Keller, she hoped that Keiko knew who she was talking to.
"Lower your voice, we don't want to spook the guards. I believe your life is in danger, and I need information."
"I-Is this about that archer? The one from before? I already told the police everything I know! I swear!"
"I believe you, but I have more specific questions. I need to know exactly what you and those people on the list were working on. There must be some project that he was trying to stop. Someone specific he was trying to kill, or perhaps find?"
"I'm sorry, I really don't know!" he replied.
Abigail stopped to think for a second... He called him the archer, Keller didn't know who was targeting him. Perhaps it would help to share and let him in on what's been going on.
"Let's try this another way... I recently discovered that the archer's real name is Damien Vega... Does that name mean anything to you?" she asked casually.
He blinked his eyes a few times and then they went wide with realization. The sweat on his brow increased and he turned pale.
"My God... I... I just want to live a normal life! I swear we didn't do anything wrong! The project was meant to save lives! No one was hurt!" He shouted as he backed into the wall at the far corner of the room, his hands still raised in fear.
Abigail gave a slight nod of her head to signal Keiko to take the shot and spook him a little.
