Writing fancy fights in books, and then going against other people are not the same thing. None of my fancy moves work.
I too need to fix my characters. I've been studying my bios, and I learned that setting the bio up is equally as important as the fight itself, otherwise you run into a lot of complications.
I'll have to rethink my battles and slow them down. Time to do some research! *Zooms off to study Zatoirichi.*
As for proboards being dumb donkeys, there is nothing I can do about that. It just happens from time to time. I'll go give them a good kick in the junk and see if they fix it for us. ;D

I just got back from the library and playing tennis. I'm tired. But I updated the site and fixed a few things. If you want details you can read the announcement page. However, in case you don't read it, I am posting here to let everyone know that the time is COMPLETELY STOPPED for the rest of the event. It will stay at 5:00 PM and will not move forward until the event finishes. As I read over future story lines, time may stop for every event in the future as well because of the way they are written out.
We'll see. If I choose to stop it I'll just make an announcement about it, otherwise time will continue on as normal.
As for the connection problem, I really did go and kick proboards about it. This is what they said:
Hi,
Unfortunately, this is a connection issue, and there is not much we can do from this end. However, as an FYI, on the page that this happens on, if they refresh the page, it should ask them if they wish to resend the request, if so, the post will go through

Yeah, it seems either the connection problem is random and they just don't want to admit it is on their end, or we both just so happen to have faulty connections that randomly disconect us. Gotta love technology.
Okay, first off I must say: Sorry for complaining. Below is just me ranting a bit. (This does not include Lewis VS Glory fight. I know I made some mistakes. I'll work on that.)
I think I am done with the battle arena. I found a few problems with it that is a bit annoying. Battles can only be as fun and detailed as both writers make them. And unless you find someone else that matches your own writing style, it can be more annoying than fun.
One of the biggest flaws I found, is that not everyone adds the same amount of detail to their posts. That is not always a bad thing, it is just hard for ME to adjust.
Sometimes it makes it very hard to block an attack when someone says "He jumped forward and slashed at his shoulder." Because a "slash" can go in many different directions, which would lead to many different ways to counter. Without knowing which way the slash was aimed, all you have to go by is a guess of how to react. I also don't like when someone dodges without telling how the dodge took place. I got tired of trying to guess what people were trying to say.
With my last battle, I got a bit annoyed at the fact that Kynn lunged forward, driving the tip of his blade into bone and then twisting the weapon, and somehow she felt no pain, she did not gasp, she did not hold her shoulder, and she proceeded to remove the weapon as if she were a super human (she was not though. She is normal). If I was stabbed by a knife and it pierced and got stuck in bone, and then the person proceeded to twist their wrist and drive it in deeper, I would be yelling like crazy. There is a reason why they wear so much padding in the Olympic games, and those are fake sparing weapons with caps to blunt the tips, not the real sharp kind from the 1500s (which were much more rigid and sharp). They wear padding because the weapons hurt. But okay...
I could adjust my fighting style to match their own, but that would require me to not write as much detail. And I don't want to change the way I write in that way... If I want to be a book writer, I need to fill pages. Fancy writing that describes actions helps to create more words so that I can reach my 350 page mark. I still need to work on grammar and structuring sentences, but that will come over time.
So for now, no more battles in the arena for awhile. I'll work on other writing skills.

Oh, but you haven't even had a piss contest yet! Where the opponent contorts and twists himself and his weapon for posts on end JUST to dodge that perfect move you managed to lure him into. Anyway yeah, it's not a very good place when you start out due to most rookies being as arrogant as the pros, minus the skill. It's well worth it for that one or two fun matches you can look back on, or tourneys, which tend to be calmer as most local ones don't have pros in 'em..
I totally see where you're coming from. Y'just need to keep up with yourself and if you're sick of the douches, just take advantage of the loopholes they leave in their writing. The 'slash at the shoulder bit'? If he doesn't specify, say your character notices it as some awkward strike that's horribly positioned, then dodge it XD.
...Hope you get a good raincoat and boots if you decide to get back. The piss fights get real wet.
Pissing Contests, Saf hit the nail on the head with that one. Part of the inevitable drama you will come across in the T1 arena. Your opponent's writing capabilities do make or break a fight. If your opponent continues to offer vague descriptions of their actions prod for information OCC and force them to be more specific or just fill in the blanks closing holes as you go as in Saf's description.
If he doesn't specify, say your character notices it as some awkward strike that's horribly positioned, then dodge it XD.
Sometime you just have to cut and make bait and move on to a new fishing hole and relax.
My next opponent in the grassroots could push my more sensitive buttons. Already he has modified his nullifying defenses to include psionic as well as magical based attacks. Anyone who plans to set off a plasma grenade that burns at 10 million degrees (might as well be walking on the sun) in a floating space station is going to require patience especially when his combat armor suit can survive such extremes in temp. It's going to be a stressful encounter
EDIT: I assume there will be no sleeping to recharge SP levels during the TIME FREEZE."

I'm working on using Semicolons. I think I've almost got the hang of it. They don't seem to be as difficult as I thought they were, but still, work with me here if they are out of place.

LOL! Yes, I should have done that. In my last fight I was trying to steer the battle into a more traditional slash and perry, or thrust and dodge type of battle. As soon as I got his character on even ground he threw mud in my face. (I know my character doesn't fight in the traditional manner, but still...)
And as for what Dave was describing about that guy's armor... wow... Good luck with that one! Lol. When I feel like it I may go back and try again. Thanks for the advice.
Okay, about the THIS role play; you can sleep if you want to. Time is frozen just so that everyone can get their "chess pieces" into position. Jared is on his way to meet Aileana now (If he doesn't go to the hospital first), and Aileana has already met Bennett. If Bernard gets to the bridge first, and he just has to wait around, you could say that he took a nap while he waited for the action to start. That should recharge his SP.
Hopefully by then Jared and Ailiena can get in Bennett's squad car and get the move on, and Bernard won't have to wait too long.

Alright, we won't rush. I'm going to have Bennett talk to Aileana a bit anyways. I still want Jared to come along, but I'll give Aileana the choice to wait for him or not. I can always send a NPC to pick Jared up if he wants to go to the bridge. Or if he wants to hang out with Nathan and Naida at Hydra corp he can do that too.
On a side note, I updated the "Humans VS Sensitives" page to include a new description about what a Sensitive can all do. I figured that since you finished training you wouldn't be going back there to read it again. This is a basic outline of what a non-super powered sensitive can do as a STANDARD:
There are not many Sensitives in the world, but the ones that do rise up are extremely dangerous. Although not all sensitives have the power to destroy, they are still a great deal stronger than the average human. Even without super powers, a standard "NORMAL" Sensitive can punch the ground to make it crack, get shot several times in the chest without dying, or get knocked through a brick wall and keep fighting. They are extremely hard to kill. Sensitives may sound cool, but they are also a lot harder to play in game.
I just thought to point it out so that we are all on the same page with what you can do. As your character grows, of course they are going to be harder to kill. If you get shot, or punched extremely hard by a human, you should now have a better idea of how your character will react to it. Safi and I were talking in PM and I told him this description, but I thought to share it with everyone else, and all future members. The idea is that your characters should be as strong as the "Justice league" and the "Avengers" by the time they reach max power.
