Bernard scrunched up his face at the turn of events. He didn’t really understand Ronson’s desire to walk into a hornet’s nest to pull out a stubborn buddy when his daughter’s life was on the line. The problem with young Bernard was that he too had trust issues. He was a leader, not a follower and marched very much to his own drum. Taking tactical instructions from the Mayor was one thing, but from a self-professed news chopper pilot was another. He was about to voice his disapproval when the Mayor interrupted the masked vigilante. "It's settled then, you can come with us but I am taking these three along for the ride as well. We could use the help."
Following the Mayor on his crusade wasn’t likely to get him as much recognition as he would need if push came to shove with Hydra somewhere down the line. If he left his side and Ronson was killed in the process it wasn’t going to benefit his cause anyways, but his vision did indicate the politician would make it to his daughter’s side. ”You sure this is wise? This all seems counter-productive to getting your daughter back safely.” Bernard exclaimed over the increasing noise of the whirling blades.
”What if you can’t save them both? Murphy caught Sergio, you put him away. What's his deal? Why the sour grapes? Why now? He’s making you choose between friend and family. Not an easy choice.”
He gave the Mayor a moment to reflect while the others piled into the chopper.
“Perhaps I should continue to search for your daughter while you retrieve Murphy. You said it yourself, without your daughter in the equation Sergio has no leverage. Sergio won’t be expecting trouble with you at the O.P.D.Perhaps we can catch him with his pants down. All I need…”
Bernard pulled our cell and began frantically texting a familiar source. If he couldn’t track down Wavelink he would try another venue and who better to know what goes on in the streets than a supplier?
