Murphy pointed a finger at Bennett's face. "Now don't be stubborn, boy! Hydra did a good thing. Now there might be a little debt to pay off, but at least you're still in the land of the living. I'm sure Carol is glad they did what they did. Things could have gone a lot worst. Besides, we have new problems on our hands, things that don't concern Hydra."
"A lot of those thugs from the bridge heist got away, and although we're pretty sure it was the Wylde Aces, we got no proof. The crime rate keeps rising and the streets are getting worse. As we feared, Hydra has gotten more control over the city after that bridge incident. The Mayor has given them permission to create a strike team to help clean up the streets. It won't be long before they buy us out."
"We need to see results, and the bridge case is still open. I recommend you rest for a few days, but if you want it, the case is yours. If you take the job I need you to play this smart. Keep your cool and see if you can find some concrete evidence for who was behind the heist. Anything will do, just as long as it holds up in court..."

Bennett snorted. "This news isn't a big surprise for me. Hydra more than likely wanted that shipment to be stolen in the first place just so that they COULD get the strike team going. I want the case, that punk that shot me is going to pay for what he did. I'll make sure to get as much information as I can. I already know where to start. I recognized one of the thugs on the bridge as Geoffrey McCain, a relative of Brian McCain- that new business entrepreneur that seems to be buying up a lot of stock all over the place.
"Geoffrey was on the bridge at the time and opened fire on me, if I can find him I can get some answers. I'll be back with more information, for now I've got a few questions for Hydra. I need to know exactly what they did to me. If you don't mind, I'll be taking a squad car with me... Oh yeah, and... Thanks for filling me in on the details."
With that, Bennett gave a nod of his head and turned around to walk out of the office. A few of his fellow officers let off a couple of cheers and pats on the back as he walked through the hall and towards the OPD garage. He ignored the cheers, he wasn't in the mood to celebrate. He showed his ID to the guard stationed at the garage and the guard tossed him a set of keys which Bennett caught with one hand. He got behind the wheel and headed straight for Hydra HQ.
He had a lot of questions, and they had all the answers.

((continued from Police Headquarters))
The building argument was brought to a momentary ceasefire with the receptionist’s announcement that Chief Murphy was ready to see them. ”Pull it together Kei.” Kameko insisted delivering the command via a forced whisper as the trio followed the leggy receptionist toward Murphy’s office. “Just keep it zipped unless directly asked for your opinion. We don’t need to piss the Chief off on Day One and catch ALL the S*** jobs.”
Keiko didn’t like her sister’s insinuation, however true, that she was a loose cannon. Despite the warning the headstrong female was still more than likely to speak her mind whether asked or not. And her siblings knew it flanking her on both sides as they entered the office forming a line in front of Chief Murphy’s desk.
”Hyogo sisters reporting for duty Sir.”Maseko announced. Prompting thel three female officers to simultaneously snap their right hand, palm facing forwards and the fingers almost touching the brim of the newly issued OPD cap in a respectful salute.
Murphy was wearing his reading glasses and looking over the latest reports that were placed on his desk. The glasses had slid down to the tip of his nose and he had a deep frown on his face as if the news was so bad he was about to shred the documents with his teeth.
His nostrils were flared and he was gripping his ink pen so tight it was on the verge of snapping in half. The city was deteriorating and there was nothing he could do about it. And then three women walked into his office and gave a solute.
He didn't lift his face from the paper, his eyes just shot up and looked at them from over the rim of his glasses.
"I know who you are. You're late, I needed you here last week." He slammed his ink pen down on the desk and leaned back in his chair, folding his arms across his chest as he spoke.
"Normally I would start you off slow and have you settle in before throwing you the heavy stuff, but the sad reality is that there are no slow and easy jobs for you to take. The press is crawling so far up my rear that I had to drink an entire bottle of Pepto-Bismol just to get through the day, and I've got cases so cold that I'm getting frostbite just looking at them."
With that he reached under his desk and unlocked a file cabinet and slammed a giant manila folder down on the desk to prove his point. Everything within that folder was a case that had ended cold without any new leads.
"I need my boys to bring on the heat. I don't have time to hold your sissy little girl hands and walk you through your first day of work. Take this folder, look through it, pick a case, and solve it. I'm going to tell you the same thing I told everyone else- I don't want anymore lazy bum screw-ups that don't know how to do their job."
He looked at them with an angry glare so hard that a huge vein popped out from his forehead. Obviously Murphy was in a good mood today.
"Do you little girls have any questions?"

Chauvinist Pig!” The bitter allegation rang loud and clear through Keiko’s mind as the she heeded her sisters’ wishes and held her tongue from verbalizing her opinion through the gender slurs. It wasn’t until Chief Murphy opened the door with his snide remark asking for questions did the fiery Asian unload. “What’s the department’s stance on lethal force?” Kei remarked shamelessly only to receive a sharp elbow to the ribs from her sister Kameko for the outburst.
“WHAT???! Keiko exclaimed innocently Fully intent on giving the bigoted police Chief a personal demonstration of her unique approach despite her gender and her size. ”It’s not my fault he asked if there were any questions. I for one sure as hell ain’t keen on giving those freaks out there the benefit of the doubt and end up clinging to life on some operating table like Atsu.”
Keiko of already feel the tightening grip upon he upper arm in restraint as Kameko interjected. You’ll have to excuse our sister Mr. Murphy. The unfortunate circumstances surrounding our sister Atsu’s injuries are still very fresh for us. The stronger sibling was already pulling the worked up Kei towards the exit.
" Don’t worry; we won’t let you down Chief. Maseko added politically; grabbing the thick manila folder from Murphy's desk before following her sisters back out into the lobby.
They were hardly out of earshot when Keiko sounded off upon her siblings. “Why do you let him talk to us like that?” Kei snapped pulling her arm from her sister’s grasp. ”Superior or not he deserved to be set straight.”
‘Ease up sis, there’s a time and place for everything. That wasn't one of them” Maseko offered in defense. ”Why not let our ‘collars’ speak to our aptitude.
”SOLVING COLD CASES? Murphy’s just setting us up to fail.’ Keiko barked.
“Look at it this way Kei. What if we were to solve a few of these cases his boyz couldn’t close? Who would be eating crow then?”
”You may be onto something Kame. I would love to see that arrogant desk jocky choke on his words. You two get started. I’ll meet you at the squad car. Right now, I’m going to channel some of this penned up hostility on the firing range.”
Murphy's mouth turned down in an angry frown. The woman spoke without respect, but he answered her question. He raised a hand to signal that it was okay.
"Quit arguing like children. I'll answer the question if it means I can shut you sissy's up. The public doesn't like when officers go around shooting innocent people. We already have the press and mayor breathing down our backs. If possible, take the criminal down alive, but if you are forced to take a lethal shot, by all means don't hesitate. We have enough of those monsters running around on the streets as it is and we're already short on staff, I don't need anymore dead officers on my hands. Understand? Now get out of my office!"
The women didn't hesitate, one of the sisters was already pulling the other girl away to leave the office. He watched them quarrel among themselves as they walked out into the hallway and he shook his head in disgust.
"Lord have mercy. I tell you the truth..."
He looked down and went back to reading over the reports on his desk.
