This is the OPD's training room where new recruits normally come to polish their skills. The first room you enter is the sparring room with punching bags and workout equipment. A boxing ring had been set up with a padded mat and ropes to make sure no one got hurt so that officers could practice hand to hand combat. There is a door at the back of the room that leads to the shooting range.
The shooting range is both soundproof and bulletproof. There is a guard stationed there to make sure people don't enter unauthorized, he also loans you a pair of safety goggles and headphones to protect your eyes and ears from gunfire.
The shooting range is designed where there are individual dividers for each gunman, as well as a small counter so that the gunman cannot cross over to the shooting field. With a push of a button you can bring your target closer to inspect your accuracy.

”What were we thinking transferring to this cesspit of a city like this? Keiko contemplated as she pulled her service revolver and stared down the range at the paper target some fifty feet away. Her family had served in law enforcement for years; her father and his father before him both highly decorated officers. The torch had now been passed to Kei and most of her sisters along with the expectations.
The slight Asian officer fiddled about with the lightweight Rycroft special in her hands trying to get a feel for the diminutive weapon compared to the P99 Classic she had standard issue back in Tokyo. ”Was ‘THIS’ worth it?” Tears began to well up in her deep brown eyes again as her thoughts revealed her selfishness. Ayako had reasoned Osiris and the FMW Project was the best chance for Atsu to survive. Though, the question remained even if she did manage to pull through the ordeal how much of their sister would remain.
Keko holstered her weapon as if to walk away. ‘They aren’t going to like it but hell if I care! No amount of departmental reprimand is going to stop me from developing the fast smooth reactions needed to get that edge that may save my life.” Without warning the dark haired Asian spun where she stood pulling the Rycroft special as she wheeled one hundred eighty degrees. As she completed the pivot her right arm extended toward the paper target down range.
BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!
Three shots were released in rapid succession striking the black eight inch circle upon the silhouette’s torso in the vicinity of the where the heart would be located on a live human target. The sounds had barely subside when to more shots rang out.
BLAM! BLAM!
One bullet from the double tap lodge dead center within the target circle contained within the silhouette’s head. The other piercing the paper just outside missing the darkened outline of the figure as the lightweight weapon was pulled past is mark. Kieko took a deep breath and collected her composure as she took determined aim with the final bullet.
BLAM!
”Despite their size, I'm still right on target Chief.” Kei mocked.
"You’re logic if flawed sis. You chose to ride with me !” Kameko huffed! “Now that Masa’s accepted the FME position there’s no way I’m getting stuck in that passenger seat again. If you want it that badly you’re going to have to take it from me. You up to the challenge?" Kameko mocked tossing a set of protective head gear toward her sister.
Keiko gathered the offering only to toss it back at her rival.”I’ll pass on the dome. Damn thing only impedes my vision. Let’s do this! I think I’ll look stunning behind that wheel.”
"That metal plate they installed in your head seems to have given you a false sense of confidence. It would be a shame if I slapped you upside the head only to jar a few wires loose just as you were getting ready to return to the working ranks.” Kameko mocked playfully. “Don’t think I’m going to go easy on you.“ ~finger wag~
Keiko wasn’t overly amused by her sibling’s playful taunts. Not that the sas came as any great surprise coming from Kame. “Don’t worry sis” She retorted as she stood shaking her extremities to loosen up. “I’m sure if you manage to tag me with any significant force Atsu should be able to put me back together again. Who knows? Today might be my day. Let’s hope she’ll be able to do the same for you.“
“Is that humor I hear coming from those lips Kei? Maybe there is some hope for you after all. I thought we might have lost you to that robot that we picked up in the recovery room. Kameko poked. “As my namesake denotes,” She paused for effect. “Superior Child. Besides, IF you were victorious you would never let me live it down.” She pointed out before putting in her protective mouthpiece. “Shall we begin?”
“Maybe thatmouthpiece will plug your pie hole for a moment while we settle this.” Keiko retorted as she reached down to pick up the police issue night stick that sat in her duffle bag. “Since you’re such a cut above the rest of us,there should be no objections to me using this little persuader to beat some respect into you.
Kameko smirked, tapping her combat gloves together indicating her readiness. Not that she had much of a choice in acceptance of the new terms after poking the bear repeatedly.
Keiko’s forte was firearms. If the incident atop police headquarters had taught her anything was that sooner or later one would have to get up close a and personal. Kameko was willing to help her along in that regard. Keeping her guard high, the nightstick grasped firmly in her left hand with the long extension of the club running down the length of her forearm, Keiko closed the gap between the two combatants. Not as a raging bull but with calculated precision as she had been taught.
Keiko would lead with a series of quick high jabs from her cybernetic right arm in hopes of setting her opponent off balance before the accompanying left cross that would target her sister’s right jawline just below the ear with the protruding nub of the hardened plastic bludgeon she grasped in her clenched fist.
A successful blow delivered in such a manner may well be enough to daze her opponent long enough to finish off her sparring partner in short order and claim victory.
((Now that the attacker has described their method of attack, targeted location, and desired effect it is now time for the defender to resolve the result))
The math 80 base attack (yes, this is weighted in favor of the attacker. Writing misses is boring. -30 (targeted location head) + 5 (weapon accuracy) – [Kameko’s Defence (+5 strength1 +5 brawling1)]
Keiko attack has a 45% chance of successfully landing the defender must roll 46 or greater on the d100 roll to evade Roll from dice log = 02 Kameko is hit
Kameko is wearing head gear (armor 1) and takes 50% of [60 (base head hit damage) +5 (weapon bonus) (Attackl Damage is 65/2 32.5 rounded up. Kameko subtracts 33 from her life marker. 47 points remain (80 -33= 47)
She must now roll vs effect for successful attack.
Kameko has a 50% chance of avoiding the stunning effects of the blow and must roll greater than 50 or suffer the negative effects associated with the strike.
Roll from dice log = 04 Kameko is stunned and unable to return an attack and receives a -20 on her next defence as she recovers. The headgear is damaged from the attack and no longer provides protection.
Now that the math is out of the way the defender makes up his/her post to reflect the results and possible respond with an attack of their own. In this case Maseko is stunned so no return attack is possible -----
The incoming jabs struck heavier and with more precision than anticipated pushing the skilled fighter backwards as she did her best to fend off the right handed volley. Call it luck, call it something entirely different, even with her high guard there was no chance to react to the well timed cross that seemingly came out of nowhere to land squarely upon Masako’s right jawline. Despite the light protection that she wore upon her head, the impact of the blow sharply snapped Kameko’s head uncomfortably to the left sending her mouthpiece spewing from her mouth at the intense pain that shot through her head. The muscular female fighter reeled sideways, her guard dropping slightly exposing her head, as she fought to maintain her composure against the thick fog ransacked her mind.
Seeing an opportunity to end the skirmish quickly Keiko pushed confidently forward loading up her cybernetic right hand to unleash a devastating upper cut as her sister’s hands dropped from their high guard position. Thie blow was designed to connect her sparring partner on the chin with a strong upward force that would put her adversary down for the count (Proposed damage 60 head +5 cybernetic arm possible KO)
((Now it is time once again to resolve the attack))
Keiko attack has a 60% chance of successfully landing the defender must roll 61 or greater on the d100 roll to evade
Roll from dice log = 92 Maseko Evades
Math out of the way time to describe the defender’s defensive actions and ensuing attack or retreat.
--------
Maseko’s experience inside the squared circle soon became evident. By the time Keiko closed the gap to deliver the punishing blow her sibling had begun to regain her faculties. As the devastating upper cut was delivered the intended recipient of the blow twisted slightly to her right and leaned away from the upward thrust of the cybernetic fist.
As the missed blow finished its trajectory Maseko countered, stepping in close to her opponent, driving her chest against Keiko’s exposed ribcage as she wrapped her arms tightly around her sister’s waist. If the grapple was secured the skilled brawler would achieve several advantages. Her head, currently tucked under the armpit of her sibling would ensure its safety. The close proximity to her opponent would also ensure the force of any blow that was landed would be significantly reduced as she drove forward pushing her opponent off balance.
((Proposed Damage- 40 + 5 (strength1) with the possibility of limiting damage (50%) from any retaliatory attack)
80 (base)-0 (targeted location body) + 5 strength +5 brawling +5 counterstrike – Kieko’s Defence (no modifier) The difference between a skilled fighter and her apprentice is obvious
Roll from dice log = 12 Kieko’s Evasion Fails
Keiko is Hit and has no armor for protection. Attack Damage is 40(base body hit) + 5 (strength) Keiko subtracts 45from her life marker. 35 points remain (80 -45= 35)
-------
An exasperated “OOOMPH” exited Keiko’s lips as her scrappy sibling’s shoulder drove hard into her soft bread basket expelling the collected air prematurely from her lungs. The effect of the well placed blow was intensified as the strong constricting grip cinched tightly around her chest locking her to her opponent and making it difficult to recuperate the expelled breath.
As she was driven backwards the inexperienced fighter realized it was only a matter of time before Kameko took full advantage of the turn of events to toss her effortlessly to the mat as she had done so many times before. Defeat was near.
”Not this time!” Keiko vowed silently as she began to repeatedly drive her elbow into the exposed muscle mass just below the armpit of the right limb that confined her. Kameko’s positioning made it next to impossible to attain any leverage to the blows. The strikes, though weak, were designed not to break the grip by force but weaken the arm repetitive strikes enough the she would be able to weaken her sibling’s grip, break free and win this fight.
((Proposed Damage- 20(base arm damage) minus 50% (effect) Total 10 damage with the possibility of breaking grapple))
The Math 80 Base-10 (targeted location arm) - Kameko’s Defence (+5 strength1 +5 brawling1)
Keiko attack has a 60% chance of successfully landing the defender must roll 61 or greater on the d100 roll to evade
Roll from dice log = 52
Kameko is Hit and has no armor for protection. Attack Damage is 20 (base body hit) * 0.5(effect) Kameko subtracts 10 from her life marker. 37 points remain (47-10= 37)
Kameko has a 50% chance of avoiding the effects of the blow and must roll greater than 50 or suffer the negative effects associated with the strike.
Effect Roll= 26 Kieko has successfully broken free of the grapple.
Math out of the way time to describe the defender’s defensive actions and ensuing attack or retreat. -------
The repeated blows slowly but surely broke down Kameko’s resolve ultimately resulting in the grappler loosening the lock around her sister’s chest as she lost feeling to her right arm. With the grip disrupted any leverage she had hoped to gain was lost. Other than to break and reset, giving the advantage back to her sibling, the former wrestler’s only valid option was to use her rival’s remaining resistance to the hold that had been used against her.
Kameko quickly altered her position, dropping to one knee to throw her opponent further off balance. The skilled fighter would use that momentum to collect her opponent upon her injured right shoulder as Keiko fell forward. Once in position the skilled brawler would rapidly spring upward to send her doppelganger airborne. With any luck her sibling would fall awkwardly enough to buy Kameko enough time to close in and finish this once and for all.
((Proposed Damage – 20 (base leg damage) and possible hip stinger hindering movement -10 to attack and evasion))
80 (base)-10 (targeted location leg) + 5 strength +5 brawling – Kieko’s Defence (no modifier) Kameko’s attack has a 80% chance of successfully landing the defender must roll861 or greater on the d100 roll to evade
Roll from dice log = 82 Kieko Evades attack!!
------
As Kameko lurched upward to springboard her opponent into flight, Keiko slide sideways rolling off the injured shoulder with relative ease without the restraint of the lock in place. Landing artfully, with nowhere near the grace of her other sibling Maseko, but with enough precision and balance she was able to avoid catching Kameko’s head in the chin as the two bodies passed. The inferior fighter now found herself behind her rival in a most advantageous position.
Not allowing the favorable moment to pass, Keiko quickly brought the cybernetic right arm into play to deliver a strong right hook into the lower ribs of her sibling just above the right kidney. The body blow was designed to knock the wind from her adversary and end this contest with her sister in a crumpled heap upon the mat conceding victory as she gasped for air.
((Proposed damage 40 (base body hit) +5(cybernetic arm). Total damage 45 with the possibility of incapacitating her opponent and achieving victory!!))

The math 80 (base) -0 (targeted location body) -- Kameko’s Defence (+5 strength1 +5 brawling1) Keiko’s attack has a 70% chance of successfully landing. The defender must roll 71 or greater on the d100 roll to evade.
Roll from dice log = 60 Kameko is hit! and has no armor for protection. Attack Damage is 40 (base body hit) + 5 (cybernetic arm). Kameko subtracts 45 from her life marker. 45(37-45=-8)
Kameko has dropped below 0 life and is incapacitated.
Fight has ended. It is up to the victor whether the loser lives (helps or sends help) or perishes -------
She didn’t see it coming. The revelation literally hit her as she witnessed the impact compressing her ribcage. Keiko cringed in pain. She thought she heard a crack, as she crumpled sideways from the force of the blow before slumping to the ground.
”Enough!” Keiko announced, extending her hand in submission as she fought to catch her breath. “You can drive. You’ve earned it.”
Rolling to her side she gazed up toward her sibling.
“You seem to have picked up a few new tricks sis. Your right sure pacts a wallop.”
”Sorry Kei” the augmented sibling replied. ”I don’t realize my own strength yet. I hope I didn’t do too much damage.”
Keiko clutched her side, grimacing as she fought her way back to her feet. “ I’ll be alright sis. I’ve felt worse. Nothing a long soak in a tub full of ice won’t remedy.”
The conversation was interrupted by the news feed featuring Chief Murphy talking to the press outside city hall. "........... If you have any questions, now is the time to ask." Murphy commented as a cacophony of questions roared from the crowd regarding the new changes. Chief Murphy pointed out a fellow from the crowd to have him ask his question... "Sir, what are your thoughts about the pending Sensitive cataloging act? Are you for or against the Purist movement, and how will the OPD adapt if the bill is passed?"
”Looks like things are about to get ugly again.” Keiko remarked to the reporter’s questions.
Kameko interjected ”It’s only natural for people to fear what they don’t know. I’m sure thing will settle down soon enough. “
”Easy for you to say Kame. You’re not one of the ‘freaks’ these Purists are singling out. Have you read that bill? It’s utter nonsense. Sure, I have my issues with Sensitives, and rightly so, but to lump us all together…...
”Can’t really blame them given recent events. It wasn’t just the Sensitives that led to Armageddon.”
”Sound a lot like you’re siding with them sis?”
”Now you’re just being ridiculous Kei. Let’s get cleaned up and get to briefing. You’ve been a little obsessed lately. Maybe getting back into the action is just what you need. You’ll see.[/ b]
