Wavelink glanced at the waitress and quickly ordered to get the woman away. "I will also have an enchilada and a hot cop of coffee, bring lots of sugar too."
After the waitress left and Naida asked what she wanted to talk about, Wavelink went on to get straight to the point.
"Tell me about what you do. For example, on a day to day basis what is your typical day like? You couldn't meet with me the past few days because you said you were busy. Tell me about it? What were you doing and what made it so important?"
She placed her elbows on the table and folded her fingers together as she rested her chin on her hands.

Naida wondered if she was a psychic... They had no records of Wavelink on their database, she was one of those rare Sensitives that never joined the Academy and stayed off the grid for most of her life. Perhaps the girl wasn't even a Sensitive, maybe she was just a normal person?
Should she lie and risk getting detected? Or just tell the truth...? If she was a psychic, wouldn't she already know what she was doing for the past few days? Or was it a test of loyalty? It was best to tell the truth for now, just to see where this would lead. Just then, Naida's phone beeped a few times letting her know she had an incoming message, but she didn't touch it; she left it off. She didn't want to spook the hacker into thinking this was a set up. If things went bad she could handle things herself for now.
"Good question... There has been a lot of rogue Sensitive activity recently, things like murder, theft, kidnappings. People abusing their powers. Hydra has been short on staff since we lost so many agents on the field, and since I have been working there so long they wanted me to assist them on the field, so I did... We also just launched the FMW project a few weeks ago and had a big unveiling, you probably seen it on TV, and then one of our shipments was robbed and we lost a lot of supplies and they needed extra hands with that as well. Just a lot of chaos these past few weeks. Why do you ask?"

Wavelink nodded her head. "Interesting. Anything else? I just have a few more questions. Any more important robberies worth mentioning?" She paused and waited for a few seconds to hear the other woman's response before she went on.
"Tell me, what do you know about these recent attacks? People with yellow eyes ripping people up, all the recent murders and rampages. Those agents that died, were they linked to the recent string of murders?"

Naida frowned and thought about it. Had there been other robberies?
"I don't know, I haven't heard about it. Hydra doesn't really announce things like that. Another agent could be in charge if there was another attack and they would have all the details, if they don't think it is related to my own case then I will never hear about it unless I specifically ask. It helps keep us focused on the task at hand. Only rarely will they give us multiple assignments, but as I said, we are now stretched thin so it is happening more often..."
The hacker sure did have a lot of questions about how Hydra operated. If the girl was a psychic she could have easily focused to find out about these things, so maybe she wasn't talented in that way?
This conversation was now starting to feel like an interrogation, maybe it was now time to turn things around in her favor to get some answers of her own... She started with the obvious questions first, then she would work up to the bigger things.
"Let's see, other then the first robbery on the bridge there was a bank that was robbed by a Sensitive, but you probably saw that on the news. Did the Aces have anything to do with either case? As for the string of murders, I don't think there is any connection. Violence and crime is on the rise, Hydra is having a hard time keeping track of it all and keeping order. Besides, if a super powered Sensitive isn't involved then neither is Hydra. If you want to learn more about murders, you should go ask the police. I haven't heard anything about 'Yellow eyed' people attacking other people. Why do you ask, what happened?"
She paused as she studied the other woman. "What do you know?"
The string of questions couldn't be answered right away because the waitress returned with their food and set it down on the table for them. No one said anything, they just sat there and watched as the food was placed in front of them. The waitress got the orders slightly mixed up, but Naida just waited for her to leave to make the switch of plates. Once everything was in order, she folded her arms and sat back to wait for the hacker to answer.

Wavelink gave the slightest of smirks and shrugged a shoulder. "I haven't heard anything special, just curious. You are right, the crime rate is on the rise. Maybe the other robberies are not related, maybe they have nothing to do with anything at all; just random crimes. The news doesn't cover everything and I like to listen to the police radio. Sometimes things pop up. If you wouldn't mind, I would like you to look into it, just see what you can find. See if the recent string of murders involving yellow eyed people- specifically, people getting their limbs torn off, has any connection to one another. Also, if you don't mind I would like to do a small background check on you, just to see if everything you have told me is true. If it all checks out I will officially consider you an Ace and give you a special mission."
She pulled her plate closer to herself and picked up her knife and fork. "Agreed?"

Naida didn't like the sound of this, but she didn't see the harm in looking into these events. She pulled her own plate closer and picked up her fork and reluctantly nodded her head. She really didn't like the idea of a background check, but she needed to get to the Underground so she would agree to the terms.
"Agreed, I don't mind. I'll look into the events and I'll let you know what I find. As for this background check, what do you want to know? How will you know if I'm telling the truth just from searching up some information?"
Naida dug her fork into her food and started eating.
Wavelink had started eating her food as well and would pause between bites to talk.
"Excellent. There was someone that recently told me about these attacks and I was just curious about them. Any information will help. As for the background check, I will need to barrow and scan your ID card to see if you really do work for Hydra Corp. For all we know you could be lying about the whole thing. Don't worry, I will just do a quick scan right here in front of you so you can see the whole process. Nothing to be afraid of."

Naida didn't like the sound of that. Now was a good time to check the phone to see who had called her earlier, maybe it could get her out of handing over her ID card. If she handed it over that could cause all kinds of trouble... Or maybe not...
If Hydra knew the Aces had her card they might be able to track it and watch any activity they do from a far. It would be a spy vs spy game with her in the middle. Sadly she didn't have much time to think this choice over, she had to make a decision. She decided it was best to stick with honesty, but go along with the proposal.
"I don't like the sound of this, but sure. You can scan the card to check my background." She reached into her backpack and removed her ID card from her wallet and handed it to Wavelink.
Naida then took her phone out of her pocket and checked the missed message, it was from Jeannette, it sounded like an emergency. It read.
-Something has come up and we need you back at base ASAP. Training exercise and mission updates.-
Naida put her phone in her coat pocket and looked back at Wavelink. "How long will this take? Something came up and Hydra wants me back at base soon. Obviously I'll need my ID to check in."

Wavelink took the ID card and removed her Data uplink device from own backpack and proceeded to remove a card reader as well to connect the two devices together.
"Don't worry, it won't take long." Wavelink then hooked the card reader data uplink up to her laptop and slid Naida's ID card into it. The barcode was recorded, scanned, and uploaded to her laptop and it began copying and saving the information on it.
She then copied the ID number and typed it into Hydra's data base to bring up Naida's records and....
She got a basic overview of Naida's profile, but nothing that went in detail. When she tried to do a deeper search she just got a bunch of error messages. Naida's main profile was locked out and behind a large amount of security walls. It would take time to hack through them, but now she had a place to start. Now that she had Naida's ID card she would just need to hack the girl's password and she would have direct access to Hydra's system.
She unplugged everything and handed the card back to Naida. "Hydra is blocking me out right now, but I can do a remote check later. I'll call you and let you know when you can start your next mission. I'm probably needed back at the club so I should get back now."
She finished up the little that was left of her food and gulped down the rest of her coffee and stood to her feet.
"You have been very helpful. I'll be in touch in a day or two." She slung her backpack over her shoulder and turned to leave.
"Can you get back home from here, or do you need a ride?"

Naida took her ID card back and put it away. "I can get a ride back home on my own, thanks." Wavelink nodded her head and left the restaurant to return to her motorcycle and drive back to club Exxel, Naida on the other hand stayed where she was to finish her meal.
She took her cell phone back out and dialed Hydra's secure line, which then connected her to Jeannette.
"Oakley, you called? What's up?" Naida asked.
"Baris, did you hear the Mayor's announcement?"
Naida raised an eyebrow. "No, I've been busy."
"Of course. It isn't too important but we have a few tasks for you. The Mayor and Rycroft initiated a city wide curfew, anyone roaming the streets after dark will be apprehended, we are to assist the police. You however are not going to be doing that for the next couple of days, we have another mission to round up some rogue Sensitives and we need you on that instead. Get back here ASAP."
Naida listened and thought about that for a second, then replied. "Sure thing, I'm on my way. One more thing, I may have some leads on the Aces so keep an eye on my ID card for any suspicious activity; I'll explain when I get there."
The other end went silent for a few seconds then Jeannette came back. "Right. Anything else?"
"No, that's all." Naida replied.
Jeannette hung up the phone without saying another word.
"Right, I guess I should get ready to go then..."
Naida finished the rest of her meal and asked for the bill for the food, at which point she realized that Wavelink didn't cover her end of the bill.
She grumbled under her breath but paid for both meals and stood to her feet. She called a taxi and waited in the doorway until it arrived, then quickly ran through the rain to get in the car.
"Hydra HQ please. I'm in no hurry, you can take your time..."
