” "Sounds like you're losing it, Hyogo. And I expected more from you Tucker! It was nothing more than your imagination and a bystander observing the scene.”
”But, but……” Merle stammered over her objection.
”So, give me something to work with here because I have no answers for the press right now. Some type of proof, a body, a lead, a believable story. Something to follow here other than three drunk officers blindly discharging their weapons into the dark and a large explosion that went off in an ally." Carlyle finished as he stared at them in disgust.
”Really?!?”
”This is how it is??”
Just because Merle has more self-respect than to cave and sleep with you.
”You’re a piece of work James.”
Keiko replayed the 911 call from her cybernetic archive. The request was sloppy but, the relevant information was there. Consumer. Dangerous… The man who ripped her arm off. A.K.A. the glowing man. Carlyle was just unwilling to listen.
"You should get you facts straight." She snapped.
"You were a detective right?"
"Or has that perceptive acuity already dulled during your cushy appointment at the top."
"Too lazy to follow the crumbs without the headlines."
”Didn’t look for the taxi driver?’
”or was he in on the conspiracy too?”
”Think of it James”
“What did we have to gain from this elaborate tale?”
“Believe what you will. We’re telling the truth.”
“Is it the vigilante sighting that makes this so unbelievable?”
“We were only commenting on its presence.”
“Without this costumed cosplayer as you portray it the accounts of the encounter should stand by themselves.”
“You have to ask yourself.”
“What the hell were they firing at?”
“If not our imaginary adversary, a Sensitive I believe you called it, then what caused such an explosion?”
“Where’s this evidence detective that says it is anything but what we recounted? Your own words would dictate otherwise.”
“Consumed by the blast?”
"You're looking for proof"
"It seems irrelevant at this point."
“Any way you look at it,it’s over right?”She sighed.
Keiko feared it was far from over.If the glowing Consumer and her uncle were one in the same he would likely be back again from the dead. Though any account of belief she held in that notion would be no doubt fall upon deaf ears at this time. She would have to continue the man hunt without the official help of the O.P.D.
{b]“Say what you have to say to the press to satisfy your ego.”
"Just leave Merle and Maseko out of this. They deserve that much."[/b]
